You’ll have until Tuesday, August 10, 2021 to get your replies to us
If you haven’t quite figured out our wedding theme yet, think Miyazaki meets Wes Anderson meets Sofia Coppola. So, we’re encouraging guests to dress “wildly creative casual”. Fancy/fun - build off the color schemes and outfits from our favorite movies! Or wear whatever makes you feel good, we just want everyone to enjoy themselves. Two things we discourage you from wearing: 1. High heels - they’ll sink in the grass, and you’ll have trouble maneuvering on tar&chip roads, welcome to the country! 2. Super fancy clothes - food will be served buffet/family style, and enjoyed via picnics on the lawn. We don’t want anyone worrying too much about their silk finery.
All vehicles will be parking at the old St. Patrick’s church down the road from our house. More info and maps are provided on other pages of this site.
We’re going to dance our way over! If for any reason you feel you can’t make the trek on foot, we will have a car to transport if needed.
Walking is a big theme of the day, hence the need for alternative comfy footwear. Again, though, if you can’t handle the walk back, we’ll help you out.
Please do not drop off anything at the house unless otherwise specified to do so. We will have a car at the church to load anything into that you don’t want to carry over yourself, and we can drive any of it back to your car at the end of the day, as well. There just won’t be enough room on site to have everyone pulling in and out to drop things off. And it’s difficult. Believe me, I lived there for the first 25 years of my life and I still can’t back down that driveway straight.
You and your fancy ass self! Sunglasses and sunscreen and hats if the weather gawds are shining upon us Any acoustic instrument you see fit to bring along! Your skateboard and/or roller blades/skates Swimming suits and beach towels! Jackets/sweatshirts for later Hot dog/marshmallow sticks and pie makers Your own alcoholic beverages preferably accompanied by your own cooler and ice. Cash or phone app abilities if you want a permanent reminder of our day! Phone chargers Comfy shoes at least for later if not for the whole time If you’re staying the night, blanket and pillow, plus your toiletries, and makeup if you care Your skin kids, but not your fur kids unless otherwise discussed (is “skin kid” gross? Good)
ITS A PIZZA PARTY!!!! We’ll have some sides and apps, as well, so if you have any food allergies/obligations, please let us know on your RSVP’s, or text us
There won’t be one, sorry! We’re making the reception BYOB. Since we can’t offer everyone a place to stay close by we don’t want to be responsible for supplying drinks that could inebriate you. Bring whatever you’d like, make sure you can carry it or put it in the car at the church to be driven over. We’ll have tubs and ice to keep things cool, but if you can bring your own cooler and ice, that would be much appreciated. Be smart. Be safe. Don’t be a messy pain in the butt. Have fun!
Don’t worry, WE GOTCHU - TATTOO BAR! Our friend Madison is a professional tattoo artist from Georgia. she’ll be providing mini tattoos from a sheet of flash having to do with us, our day, and our theme(s). All we ask is that you donate tip to her PER tattoo, either via cash or Venmo/PayPal/Cash App. For the non-tattooed people in the back - here’s you chance! Be mindful, these definitely won’t wash off any time soon.
If any of our friends would like to spend Friday or Saturday night at the house, just let us know! You’re welcome to bring tents, and there will be a few spots to sleep in the house, as well. We’d love the company and the help setting up and breaking down!
You can dance if you want, and leave your friends behind! Or take them with you, whichever! But there won’t be a dj or a dance floor. Jer and I aren’t big into dancing (we know, shocker). We’re running the music via Spotify playlists and Bluetooth speakers spread throughout the party, so feel free to shake it out any time the music speaks to you.
While we love all the animals all the time, we request that you do not bring your pups. We have 2 dogs of our own getting used to each other and their new surroundings, plus a bunch of nervous cats, and it would just be too much worry throughout the day. We’re sorry and we realize this will probably put a damper on some of your party plans, but again, we’ll be so happy to see you for as much time as you can be away from your fur children. (IF your dog has met Tela and June, is good around cats always, and has met any other dog we give the go ahead for, then they can come. But only if all of these points are met)
Absolutely, but know that we have no idea what to do with them and thus there are no child-centric activities. If they come with their own meals or can eat and drink what everyone else is eating and drinking, they should be fine. MOST importantly, we’ll have dogs and cats with varying levels of child-friendliness around who deserve the utmost respect from tiny hands - please don’t make me threaten anyone, I DO know what to do to make a small child run & probably cry.
We’ll hopefully have the following: campfire with marshmallows, hot dogs, s’mores, and moon pies Skate ramp Mini tattoos! Volleyball net (also badminton supplies) Kiddie pools and slip & slide Video games Board games Pinball Duck pin bowling More to be added, Let us know if you have any ideas!
