Lighted Garland

Wedding Party

Beth Reedy

Maid of Honor

While not related by blood, Beth has been like an older sister to Cori for Cori's entire life. She has supported Cori through many hard times and triumphed with Cori in her victories. They had many years of going out to the forest to get our Christmas trees, and swimming in Donner Lake. When they got older, they grew to be closer friends when she lived with Cori while she was in PA school. They stitched up chicken breasts in the kitchen and were each other's dates to the all white holiday Kaiser party.

Adam Press

Groomsman

Although they met during their first semester in college, Jack and Adam didn’t become good friends until their second semester after joining the same fraternity. They quickly developed a bond defined by sarcastic digs and spicy comebacks that border on cruelty, which were honed as they played basketball and racquetball, video games, and watched hockey. During their senior year they lived in the same house, where Jack consistently destroyed Adam at ping pong in-between classes.

Allison Szczepanski

Bridesmaid

Allison and Cori met during their interview at the University of South Carolina. They, along with another wonderful woman, hung out after their interview at the cafe in the building. Little did they know, they all would become great friends over the next two plus years. Through many stressful days and nights, they have emerged as genetic counselors.

Jacob Frankel

Groomsman

Jack first met Jacob as preschoolers at Great Beginnings, and at one point were backyard neighbors in Land Park. They re-met at Country Day in middle school and became great friends going into high school. Their friendship during this time was characterized by Pokémon, movies, neighborhood hangouts, eating at the Taqueria, and goofing around Sacramento with the Country Day gang.

Camille Locke

Bridesmaid

Camille is Cori’s younger sister. She has been her ballet buddy and they share a love of dance that involved countless Nutcracker performances and continues past their college careers. Although she is 3 years younger, she has been taller than Cori for a long time. For Cori’s college tours, they thought Camille (who was in middle school at the time) was the prospective student.

Jared Tippens

Groomsman

In 2017, Jack and Jared both started grad school at Georgia Tech in the same research group. Their shared interests in sports, books, and research bonded them as friends. Before Jared finished his Master’s degree, they spent time playing intramural basketball and 2K, going to Atlanta United soccer games, and working in the lab to publish research papers together.

Darcy Lynchoffersen

Bridesmaid

Cori and Darcy have been best friends since they were 4 and 3 years old when they started dancing together. They have shared in many Nutcrackers with various roles from Christmas Trees to Angels to Candy Canes to Marzipan. They have stayed close friends through out college either though they moved to different states. Cori will still get together with Darcy often when she is in Sacramento.

John Floyd

Groomsman

Jack and John met during their freshman year in engineering courses, but their friendship rapidly grew early sophomore year as they bonded over their past lives in World of Warcraft. The relationship continued to grow during hang outs in John’s dorm rooms throughout college, and potentially peaked after discovering the sandwich swap at Hearthstone Bakery in San Antonio. Over the years, part of their friendship has been defined by their shared passion for learning new topics and deep discussions about the world.

Glynis Irving

Bridesmaid

Cori and Glynis became fast friends their freshman year of college. They were the two ballet bun heads in a dance department that was mostly modern. Not only did they dance together, they also suffered through Gen Chem together. In their senior year they were finally able to perform a ballet performance with Glynis's own choreography in the fall and Swan Lake on pointe in the Spring. Since graduation, Cori and Glynis have found many fun places to wine taste from the Pour House in Truckee to Bogle in Clarksburg.

Juan Carlos Suarez-Domit

Groomsman

Jack and Juan met in their freshman engineering classes and became good friends soon after joining the same fraternity. Juan was roommates with John through college, and their places became the go-to hang out spot for Jack and other friends. Juan’s passion for food exposed Jack to some of the best local spots in San Antonio, which often involved Juan having to drive Jack before he got his car. Both Juan and Jack graduated with engineering degrees, and during their time in college they always competed to get higher grades than Robert. More recently, Juan and Jack have inspired each other to go on epic wilderness trips.

Katy Lewis

Bridesmaid

Katy is Jack's little sister and future sister-in-law to Cori. Cori has known Katy since preschool and were friends with Katy in Middle School at Country Day. They have gone on fun family trips with Jack and his Mother to Los Angeles. They are excited about the upcoming trip to New York.

Matt Hager

Groomsman

Jack and Matt met in Calc II during their first semester in college and got to know each other more after joining the same fraternity. Along with Adam, Matt attempted to force his fanatic Dallas Stars hockey fandom onto Jack with mixed success. Like Adam, Matt and Jack developed a relationship filled with spicy jabs due to their competitive racquetball sessions. A large part of Jack’s college experience took place in Matt’s FJ Cruiser with the Avett Brothers always on in the background. They lived together their senior year, experiencing the joys of living in a grimy house full of college dudes.

Kayla Blankenship

Bridesmaid

Kayla and Cori grew close during their time at University of South Carolina. Kayla is a native South Carolinian and was able to show Cori the ropes around Columbia. Venting sessions on the river walk and dinners at Cantina with Allison helped them get through grad school and develop a strong bond that can withstand the distance they are from each other now.

Robert Hure

Groomsman

Like half of the other groomsmen, Jack and Robert met as freshman engineering students through many shared courses. Despite Robert’s passion for obscure baseball facts, they quickly became friends, with Robert convincing Jack to join the rush process during their first semester. They later became roommates during their sophomore and junior year, and throughout college they commiserated over the grind of engineering classes. Robert’s strong abilities in engineering always inspired Jack to push to the next level, even though most of the time he couldn’t beat Robert (except in Fluid Mechanics!)

Shaylee Nystrom

Bridesmaid

Cori and Shaylee met in anatomy and physiology lecture in undergrad. The mutual suffering over a formaldehyde reeking cadaver bonded the two of them. They have learned they have a lot in common including their love for a specific Indycar Driver, Hélio Castroneves and a history of dance. Along with Mo, Cori and Shaylee have had fun boating on Donner Lake, painting at West End Beach and exploring Old Sac.

Mohammad Sayafi

Bridesman

Mo and Cori met when they joined Phi Delta Epsilon premed fraternity and were in the same family. While both of their careers went in different directions, they stayed close friends. Mo introduced Cori to Shaylee and the three of them have had many fun adventures together. They were in the Puzzle club in undergrad and had many classes together. Their final class together was Evolution, which Mo may have slept through while we were learning about Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Since Graduation, Mo, Shaylee and Cori have met up in Truckee with the rest of the Carson crew.

Dr. Walter Kinney

Officiant

Walter has been a close friend of Cori’s family for 35 years. The families spent New Year’s Eve together in Truckee for many years. She has known him her whole life. He was like an extra father figure for her growing up. As an adult he has taken special interest in teaching her about wine and gourmet cooking. In addition to being a retired Gyn Oncologist and world expert in Cervical Cancer screening, he is a musician and avid music historian and wonderful storyteller. Cori has learned so much about so many things from him. They are so grateful that he agreed to be the officiant for their ceremony!
