Café Cuatro Sombras
We are OBSESSED with the quesitos de guayaba y jamón from Café Cuatro Sombras! Their coffee? Straight from their hacienda in Yauco, Puerto Rico. (next door to my mom's hometown of Guanica :) If you’re wandering through Old San Juan, this little café is the perfect spot to slow down, sip something delicious and have a quesito. We’d love for you to try it while you're here and don't forget to bring us some while you're at it!
Restaurante Raíces
If you want a picture-perfect Puerto Rican dining experience, Restaurante Raíces is the spot. Located in the heart of Old San Juan, this tourist favorite serves up classic dishes like mofongo and lechón in a setting that feels like stepping into Puerto Rican history. The décor, the traditional outfits, the massive wooden chairs—it’s all beautifully photo-worthy and full of culture. If you have time during the wedding weekend, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s like stepping into a classic Puerto Rican time capsule, you don't want to miss it!
Casa BACARDÍ
If you have a little extra time while you're in Puerto Rico for our wedding, I highly recommend a visit to Casa Bacardí in Cataño—just a quick ferry ride from Old San Juan! It’s the world’s largest premium rum distillery, where you can enjoy welcome cocktails, take a rum tasting or mixology class, and learn about Bacardí’s rich history. The views, the vibes, and the drinks are all top-notch. It’s a fun, flavorful way to experience a slice of Puerto Rican culture—and I’d love for you to go if you get the chance!
Crash Boat Beach
One of our favorite memories in Puerto Rico was spending the day at Crash Boat Beach in Aguadilla (Corey's dad's hometown) with friends and family. From swimming in warm turquoise waters to drinking fresh coconut water and snacking on pinchos and empanadillas, the day was perfect. This beach offers it all: great snorkeling, boat watching, paddleboarding, and picture-perfect views with colorful fishing boats and lush tropical vines. Whether you want to relax, explore, or just catch a blissful sunset, it’s worth the trip. If you can squeeze it in during the wedding weekend, don’t miss it!
Castillo San Cristóbal
This massive 1700s fortress is packed with secret tunnels, epic views, and serious history. Climb the walls, peek out of the iconic garitas, and take in unbeatable views of the ocean and Old San Juan. It’s like stepping into a real-life movie set—you don’t want to miss it!
El Yunque National Forest
Make sure to visit El Yunque National Forest! It’s a tropical paradise with amazing hiking trails, stunning waterfalls like La Mina Falls, and breathtaking views from Yokahu Tower. Whether you’re up for an adventurous hike or just want to soak in the natural beauty, it’s a must-see.
