Our venue is unique from traditional wedding venues in that we're basically renting out someone's (very large) home, and hosting our wedding there! This way we'll have access to the lodge starting Friday the 25th, and won't need to leave until the day after the wedding. It was important for us to not feel restricted on time, rules, and how our wedding would take place; we want to make sure we have plenty of time with our guests that are traveling from all over the country to see us!
The ceremony and reception will be at a log-style lodge which is run by a non-profit specifically for large group rentals and events. The Lodge will also make for accommodations for some of our guests, and has a lot of indoor and outdoor space for gathering, dining, and dancing. If weather permits, the ceremony will be located on the lawn by the river. Guests will be seated for the ceremony. Dinner will be supplied on the first floor dining room and deck, also seated. There will be lawn games and fire pits available after the ceremony, as well as a game room upstairs.
The wedding attire is semi-formal. (For the ladies, grass-friendly shoes like wedges are highly encouraged). Please bring a jacket in case it gets a little chilly once the sun goes down (~9:30pm), since the dance floor is outside (weather permitting).
The lodge sleeps up to 40 people, so we’re hoping a lot of friends and family will join us there! We will be extending invites to out-of-town guests first, but if you’re interested in being added to the list please send us an email (bmadrid90@gmail). Keep in mind that accommodations there are primarily bunk rooms (though very nice ones!). The average room has 3 bunk beds and an en suite bathroom with shower. Guests should be prepared to share space and possibly make new friends! We do have the lodge for the nights of both May 25th and 26th. Fair warning: those who choose to come up on Friday may also be given decorating jobs ;)
If you have the equipment to do so, definitely! Our venue has ample space for tents on the lawn, though we have been told you may be visited by elk and other wildlife :) If that doesn’t deter you, please email us for further details; current cost of camping is $30/tent/night as stated by our venue, which we will gladly cover if would like to stay on site! You will have access to all of the facilities available inside the lodge, as well.
In order to allow all guests (including parents) an evening of relaxation, we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-centered occasion. However, we do understand that due to the travel needed to get to our celebration, leaving the kids at home might not be an option for some out-of-town guests or nursing mothers. Please let us know if this includes you!
We know that many of you might not travel to this corner of the country often, and we highly recommend taking some extra time to enjoy the area as part of a longer vacation! Light rail from the airport makes Seattle a very explorable city, and frankly this website isn’t big enough for our long lists of recommendations on things to do, eat, drink, and see. Take a look at the "Things To Do" tab, but here are some others if you're trying to maximize your trip: - Olympic Nat'l Park: take a day or two to explore incredible coastline, rainforests, and mountains! - San Juan Islands: if you have time, PUT THIS ON YOUR LIST. They're only reachable by Ferry, but they are so beautiful. Pick any of the islands and explore/hike/wine and dine. -Treehouse Point B&B: 20 minutes outside of Seattle, where you get to stay in an ACTUAL tree house!! See under "Travel" for more info. -Vancouver, BC: Reachable by ferry or car from Seattle; enjoy hiking, restaurants, and bars!
