Her version: The first time we met is hard to pinpoint. We were both freshmen attending Univ. of Nevada, Reno, and we both lived in the Nye Hall dormitory. I was still dating my high school boyfriend whose roommate, as fate would have it, became very good friends with Corey. Because of their friendship, I became aware of who Corey was. We saw each other around the dorms quite a bit our freshman year, but we didn't have the opportunity get to know each other until having a Biology class together our sophomore year. As time went on (and I became single), Corey and I continued to get to know each other and we've now been together over seven years! His Version: Saw a pretty gal..persistent courtship..flex muscles..for 6 years..got a ring..sounds bout' right
This is a long one. Corey proposed while we were living in Washington state. He had instructed one of my friends to keep me busy with a "girls day" while he rented a house in the Seattle area to set everything up. I had absolutely zero idea that anything was going on, although I did notice my friend was acting pretty weird. Her and I drove around exploring and eventually stopped "on a whim" (although I know now it was planned) in a town we had never visited, to enjoy happy hour at a restaurant on the water. By this time it was nearly sunset, and she (hurriedly) suggested we go down to the water. When we walked outside to the pier, I saw one of my best friends waiting on the dock (this best friend lives in Las Vegas - nowhere near the Seattle area). Right then, I knew in my gut what was about to happen. She handed me a letter, told me I wasn't allowed to ask any questions, and both of the girls took me back to their car, and drove me to a beautiful house on the water... From there I approached the back door to the house, where there was a "Platform 9 & 3/4" barrier blocking the entrance. I busted through, into a candlelit living room with music playing...to find Corey nowhere to be found. Instead I found I was surrounded by ~10 people wearing black cloaks and Death Eater masks (I was quickly realizing the Harry Potter theme). A couple of these "Death Eaters" then escorted me upstairs, handed me a robe and a wand, and gestured for me to go out onto the balcony. I walked out expecting to find Corey - but again, he was nowhere to be seen. Someone then pointed down towards the water, and that's when I saw: the pier behind the house, lit up with candles, a sign that said "Marry Me," and Corey standing at the end in a tux. I ran down the stairs of the house, outside to him, where I saw he had the sixth Harry Potter book in his hands; he opened it up to the chapter titled "The Unbreakable Vow," got down on one knee...and we were engaged!
