Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Ashley Tamaru and Omar Cordero
When you come to New Orleans, plan to eat to your belt's content! There is an abundance of good food here, but here are some food spots that we enjoy. Trust us, all restaurants are not treated equally! The best spots are usually hole-in-the wall spots, so be prepared to wander of the beaten trail to follow your belly! You haven't truly experienced New Orleans without soaking in its charm and history. Plan a day tour or note some of our recommendations for things to do and see.
Parkway Bakery & Tavern

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119
, 5044823047

Listen - not all po'boys are treated equally. If you want the REAL DEAL, you come to Parkway!

Neyow's Creole Café

Neyow's Creole Café

3332 Bienville Street, New Orleans, LA 70119
, 5048275474

Listen, the service is not what you come here for - don't expect the warm and fuzzies. But if you want a fun, casual ambiance and some good food, this spot doesn't disappoint! They also have happy hour during the 3-8 PM - so take advantage of that! We like the smoked sausage, the red beans and rice, fried catfish, the stuffed crab po'boy and we LOVE the chargrilled oysters and the praline pound cake. YUM YUM YUM!!!

Cajun Seafood

Cajun Seafood

1479 North Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70116
, 5049486000

If you want a taste of Nawlins seafood boil, look no further! Get ready to get your hands dirty, no need to dress up and don't expect anything fancy about this place. But prepared to stuff your face with seafood by the pound!

Olde Nola Cookery

Olde Nola Cookery

205 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Listen - the bread pudding is top tier! But that's the only thing you order here. Get the sauce on the side (Omar's a fan, Ashley is not) and go enjoy with a cup of coffee.

Famous Door

Famous Door

339 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Depending on which band is playing that night, you can catch some good live music in the French Quarter. It's very LOUD but the drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is always fun and lively.

21st Amendment Bar at La Louisiane

21st Amendment Bar at La Louisiane

725 Iberville Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

This is one of our favorite spots in the French Quarter. Stop here for amazing cocktails and even better live jazz music!

City Park

City Park

New Orleans, LA

So much here...Morning Call, Botanical Gardens, NOMA, Sculptures, old trees, birds, water, bridges, fountains, so peaceful, relaxing, well laid out. Free parking. Everything here is free or almost free. Get one of the rental bikes and have a relaxing moment with nature.

Garden District

Garden District

New Orleans, LA

For a day of taking in the New Orleans architecture through the historic mansions, put on some comfy walking shoes and head to the nearest street car stop. Riding through the Garden District on the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar is simply a must (part of the oldest continuously operating street railway system in the world, dating back to 1832). Download the Le Pass app to book your ticket.
