While we love your little ones, we’ve decided to make this an adults-only celebration. We hope you’ll treat yourself to a weekend getaway—full of fun, friends, and maybe even a glass of wine...or two or three or four!

No need! All of our events—from the ceremony to the reception to the after-party—will take place at the Tidewater Inn, so once you arrive, you’re set.
Early September on Maryland’s Eastern Shore is usually warm and sunny, with average highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and cooler evenings in the 60s. We’ll be keeping an eye on the forecast and will have a weather backup plan in place if needed.
We recommend booking as soon as possible! Our room block at the Tidewater Inn is available until August 5, 2026, and it’s the most convenient place to stay since all our events will take place there. The Tidewater Inn does not release all of its rooms online until about 6 months before the wedding, so until the 6-month mark, there should be plenty of flexibility in terms of room type. The hotel has assured us they’re happy to be accommodating with our block—as long as rooms are still available. However, if another event creates a new room block, that could reduce availability of certain room types before the 6-month point. So the sooner you call, the better! Just mention the Painter/Walls Wedding, and they’ll walk you through your options. You’ll find all the details you need on our Travel page.
You can—but we don’t recommend it. Rooms booked online won’t be linked to our wedding block, which means you won’t receive the discounted group rates (ranging from $259 to $379 per night, depending on the room type). To get the special rate and ensure you’re counted toward our block, you’ll need to call the Tidewater Inn directly at (410) 822-1300 and refer to the Painter/Walls Wedding when booking. The team there is incredibly kind and helpful, and they’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
Absolutely! The room block rates apply to additional nights before and after the wedding, so you’re welcome to extend your stay. As long as those extra nights are part of the same reservation as your stay for the wedding (i.e., you book them all together when you call), you’ll receive the same discounted rate for any added nights. This is a great option if you’d like to arrive early, enjoy a more relaxed start to the weekend, or spend some extra time exploring Easton and the surrounding area after the festivities. Just be sure to mention the Painter/Walls Wedding when you call to book so they apply the group rate to your entire stay.
We recommend BWI (Baltimore/Washington International Airport) as the most convenient option. From there, you can rent a car or take the BayRunner Shuttle directly to Easton. DCA (Washington National Airport) is also an option if you’d like to spend some time in D.C. before or after the wedding.
