Civil Ceremony

On July 31, 2020, David and Katie went to the Sacramento County Clerk/Recorder's office to become legally married. Equipped with 'bride' and 'groom' face masks made by Laura Copsey, mother of the bride, the two got married behind a clear plastic divider, with the officiant on the other side. The bride's parents, Paul and Laura Copsey were in attendance and Emily Chirk the maid of honor was the witness. Following the civil ceremony, the two returned to their apartment, where Laura and Emily had decorated the patio (with help from Tricia Holmes) in preparation for a special outdoor dinner. Emily also baked a beautiful and delicious almond cake, with strawberry compote, mascarpone cream filling, and white buttercream frosting.
