Question

Will there be transportation available?

Answer

There will be shuttle service to and from the Common Man, The Lodge, and The Fairfield hotels. They will provide two pick-ups before the ceremony at 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. They will have return service during the reception until 11:00 p.m.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather in August is typically fairly warm with average temps in the 70's or 80's.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Barn on the Pemi. There is a couple beautiful ceremony locations and the barn will host the reception.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will likely be taking place outdoors unless there is bad weather. The reception will take place in the barn which is temperature controlled.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is plenty of onsite parking which is all free. If you are staying overnight for the celebration there will be a trolley that can bring you to and from the hotel.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your guest's name is listed on your invite and when you RSVP, then yes! Otherwise, we'd like to keep the wedding as an intimate event with close family and friends.

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Unless your children are listed on your invitation and when you RSVP to the event, this is an adult-only event.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, please see the travel page for details. Please note, we have a block of rooms at the Common Man and there will be a trolley providing rides to and from this location.

Are the ceremony and reception wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, both locations are wheelchair accessible. Dining will take place on the second floor of the barn but there is an elevator to accommodate those who need it.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes, we will have passed appetizers during the cocktail hour followed by a plated meal for dinner. There will be a vegetarian option for those who would like it at both the cocktail hour and dinner.

Can I take and post pictures on social media from the wedding?

Answer

We ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony but encourage guests to take photos during the cocktail hour and reception. You are more than welcome to post pictures to your social media channels, Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #happilyeveraalerud so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
