Things To Do

Below are a few great places to explore and try while in wine country and San Francisco. If you can, give yourself a city day and a wine country day! You won't regret it :)

Sonoma Plaza

453 1st Street East, Sonoma, CA 95476

There's more than 24 wine tasting rooms of local Sonoma vineyards right on the city square.

Indian Springs Calistoga

1712 Lincoln Avenue, Calistoga, CA 94515

For the best hot springs/ massage/ mudbath/ spa day ever, go to Indian Springs. Calistoga is one of Camille's favorite part of wine country. Great town to eat, drink, spa, and antique shop!

Trefethen Family Vineyards

1160 Oak Knoll Avenue, Napa, CA 94558

This is one of Camille and Scott's favorite vineyards! It's also one of Penny's as well, since she's allow to hang out and stroll the gardens. It's small, laid-back, and family owned -- enjoy this beautiful Napa winery with charming service and stunning wines!

Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley

21707 8th Street East, Sonoma, CA 95476

Ride a trolly around Sonoma and check out a bunch of great spots in a single afternoon! (For our Northwestern friends, the last time we did this we learned our tour guide had founded Nevins!)

Buena Vista Winery

18000 Old Winery Road, Sonoma, CA 95476

The oldest commercial winery in California, Buena Vista's historic charm remains—as do the original Champagne cellars. The Carneros grounds feature a museum of 19th-century wine tools and tranquil picnic grounds. The winery’s location is ideal for varietals ranging from merlot and syrah to chardonnay and pinot. Request a cave tasting!

Barndiva

Center Street, Healdsburg, CA 95448

If you find your way north of Sonoma in Healdsburg, then stop by BarnDiva! With a Michelin Star to its name, BarnDiva is California farm-to-table dining at its finest, but without any pretense. Come here for delicious bites, creative cocktails, and a funky vibe in wine country!

Bartholomew Estate Winery

1000 Vineyard Lane, Sonoma, CA 95476

This is maybe one of Camille's favorite wineries!! Come here for a beautiful and tucked away farm-style vineyard in Sonoma! Roam the grounds as you drink wine on picnic benches and then go for a little hike afterwards. Plus, the wine is impeccable!

B.R. Cohn Winery and Olive Oil Company

15000 Sonoma Highway, Glen Ellen, CA 95442

Camille and her friends took a wine tour pre-Covid and stopped by this BEAUTIFUL winery. The views are spectacular, and the wine is amazing.

Valley

487 1st Street West, Sonoma, CA 95476

This is a cute neighborhood restaurant, wine bar and bottle shop serving "California home cooking!"

Sunflower Caffé

421 1st Street West, Sonoma, CA 95476

Art-lined cafe with a seasonal, locally-sourced breakfast & lunch menu, plus coffee, beer & wine. We enjoy all of their specials and the homemade soft-serve ice cream is great too!

the girl & the fig

110 West Spain Street, Sonoma, CA 95476

The girl & the fig features a wonderful antique bar with French aperitifs, unique and traditional cocktails, an award-winning Rhone-Alone winelist, a seasonal menu, cheese & charcuterie platters, and outdoor garden patio seating.

El Molino Central

11 Central Avenue, Sonoma, CA 95476

A laid-back Mexican place with incredible food--fish tacos here are a must!

Golden Gate Park

San Francisco, CA

Right near Height Ashbury is Golden Gate Park. If you've never been, go! You can rent bikes and bike all the way through the park to the ocean.

Lands End Trail

Lands End Trail, San Francisco, CA 94121

For a GORGEOUS look at the Golden Gate Bridge from above and a wonderful hike, take a walk at Lands End. Beautiful, especially on a clear day. Cliffs overlooking the ocean.

Crissy Field East Beach

San Francisco, CA 94129

You can also walk along Crissy Field. Beautiful beach and looks up at the bridge. Lots of off leash dogs literally living their best life.

Muir Woods National Monument

Mill Valley, CA 94941

Muir Woods is right in Marin, between San Francisco and Sonoma. A wonderful place to go if you want to walk through a forest of California Redwoods. Plenty of "oohs" and "ahhs" await. YOU DO NEED A RESERVATION.

Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve

17000 Armstrong Woods Road, Guerneville, CA 95446

Another Redwoods option, closer to Sonoma and no need for a reservation!

Tallboy

4210 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA 94609

Martinis and (vegan) weenies! What's not to love!! Slowly becoming one of our favorite spots!

Faction Brewing

2501 Monarch Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Our FAVORITE brewery (along with Almanac Brewery just down the way). Expect awesome views of the city when its not cloudy, and some great beer.

Redwood Glen Trailhead

Big Trees Trail, Oakland, CA 94611

Some great hiking amongst the redwoods in the East Bay near us. Oakland has so many hidden gems!

Viks Chaat

2390 Fourth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710

If you're craving some good Indian food, GO HERE and we promise you won't regret it.
