We meet on a popular dating app. There are usually very little expectations for anything serious when meeting people on hookup apps, but this time was different. Six months after we met we decided to take things more seriously. We began the process of turning the many into the few, the few into the two and finally the two into the one. From February 2018 to February 2019, we practiced, we committed, we talked to each other, we listened to each other, we picked each other. As our two year anniversary approached, August 22, 2019, we decided to continue our journey taking the next steps people in love take. So, for the past year, we did the work of not only planning a wedding but seeking counseling and deciding on the next few years of our lives. We have both seen the ups and downs of marriage in our personal family lives. We only ask that we be allowed to make our way through this new journey for us and ask for your support as we move along.

The the second anniversary of our first face-to-face meeting I thought would be a great time to ask Antwain to marry me. I actually knew six months prior but wanted to wait for a meaningful moment. I asked Antwain, "if I asked you to marry me would you like a public engagement" and he said "yes, and I would like my mother there." So, I needed to plan. How was I going to contact his mother and others without Antwain knowing. Well, with the help of my family and friends, I was able to pull it off. On August 22, 2019, we got engaged at Smith Commons in NE Washington.
