Maid of Honor
Sister/Flesh & Blood of the Bride No one knows Maggie better than Molly. Growing up they shared the same love for musical theater, the same sense of humor, the same passion for accents/movie quotes, and the same childhood bedroom. Despite so many similarities, their differences are what makes them work - with Molly's go-with-the-flow attitude balancing out Maggie's "I need to decide what shower curtain to pick at 2am" energy. Molly has been Chris' person on the inside (since she knows exactly how Maggie will react to any and everything), ring shopping co-conspirator, and push present* consultant. Interestingly, the wedding was set for December - as far as possible from Molly's June 'birthday month' - one can only imagine why.
Groomsman
Nickname: "Gellbone" Middle School Friend of the Groom Chris and Jon became quick friends early on talking only about comic books, drama from High School, and the movie 'Say Anything'. Decades later, their relationship remains the exact same. It's awesome.
Bridesmaid
Sister-in-Law of the Bride Jamie Sloan can do it all. A mom of three and a marketing superstar, somehow Jamie always has time to help when Maggie needs her motherly wisdom or Chris needs an immediate engagement ring consultant. If Maggie and Molly could have designed in a lab the perfect Sister-in-Law to join their family, it would be Jamie. Looking back, they might have had the lab not include that 'pinching feature'.
Groomsman
Nickname: "Timtastic!" Friend of the Groom A co-founding member of CoreFourCorp™, Tim is known for his sharp wit, groundbreaking advertising campaigns, extremely long lasting commitment to a hairstyle despite overwhelming societal pushback, and once getting sued by Major League Baseball.
Bridesmaid
College Friend/Former Roommate of the Bride Caitlin is well known for being the most thoughtful, nurturing, and creative person in any room she enters. Those that know her best are also are treated to her wonderful wacky side, so look out for her moves on the dance floor. While living with Caitlin on Avalon Road, Maggie would keep the apartment clean because she knew it would "make Caitlin happy". This is when Maggie first learned what true love felt like. Her love for Caitlin has not changed (just look at any picture of the two of them together) and one day maybe she'll look at her husband-to-be in the same way. We'll see.
Groomsman
Elementary School Friend of the Groom When Chris Coogan first slept over at his 1st Grade classmate Chris Shields' house, it was the Groom's first exposure to cups that weren't made out of plastic. He broke four to five glasses that day. Nevertheless, the Shields family were able to overcome this early obstacle and they became close companions of the Coogans and Chris and Chris have continued their friendship to this day.
Bridesmaid
Nicknames: "Beth", "Baby B" Friend/Former Roommate of the Bride As friends, roommates, and travel companions, Beth and Maggie have shared a million laughs, adventures, and milestones. However, nothing compares to the Summer of 2016, also known as the 'Summer of Beth', when after a dry winter, Maggie credits Beth with teaching her everything she needed to know about love, life, and the pursuit of happiness. Maggie knows she can lean on those important lessons as she moves into the next stage of marriage, with Beth serving as a role model wife extraordinaire to her beloved 'Kyle' (said in the 'Kyle' voice).
Groomsman
Nickname: "Paul Connors" High School Friend of the Groom Close friends Chris and Paul have done a lot together as High School classmates, teammates, longtime roommates, Victoria's Secret coworkers, and Inaugural Vassar College Edward 40 Hands Relay Champions. As they get older, looking back, Chris would have done it all the same again. Except maybe that Summer they spent wearing Cowboy hats and talking in Texas accents...not sure what that was about.
Bridesmaid
College Friend of the Bride No one else can make Maggie laugh till she cries, and then cry till she sweats like Anne Annello. Anne and Maggie have been close friends since they met Freshman year of college. Though they don't live as close as they did when they were at UConn, Maggie knows Anne is always just a phone call away from talks that can go on for hours about anything and everything from work dilemmas and life advice to Anne's street fighting days, when she danced with knives to defend Maggie's honor.
Groomsman
Older Brother of the Bride Along with Jamie, Eddie is one half of Chris and Maggie's 'role-model couple'. Chris and Maggie have looked up to the two for years with how they handle their relationship, marriage, a baby, and then even more babies all with the same enthusiasm and grace. Along with being a great family man, Eddie is also a successful business person, golfer, movie quoter, and amateur lawn enthusiast.
Bridesmaid
Sister of the Groom Chris and Tracy's relationship has grown a lot since their childhood - like when Tracy made Chris her pet dog (including leash) or when Chris was terrorizing Tracy during his 'biting phase' (don't worry, he stopped biting ages ago). Despite rocky beginnings, Tracy is someone Chris knows will always there for him, be it editing a resume, looking over a contract or giving away free couches and microwaves. She is truly the 'hero' of the family.
Groomsman
Nicknames: "Diaper Boy", "Binky", "The Inventor of the Cinquenta" Baby Brother of the Bride Under the tutelage of his sister Maggie, who raised him from a young age single handedly, Andrew has grown into an intelligent, successful young man who you definitely want on your trivia team. With the benefit of living close by, Andrew has snagged a few rides to and from family events. Whether the ride was worth being exposed to a couple of Chris and Maggie's worst car fights, you'll have to ask him. At the very least, during one of his stints staying with Maggie and Chris in Charlestown, he learned a valuable lesson about commenting on who does the dishes more that left him forever scarred, I mean, changed.
Bridesmaid
College Friend of the Bride Sam is a modern day Renaissance woman. Her boundless talents include accomplished musician, Irish step dancer, financial expert, Harvard doctorate student, DIY craft artist, gourmet chef, and the list goes on infinitely. She is the only person who Maggie would watch a Star Wars movie for (or at least occasionally glance over at the TV while eating appetizers in the other room). Samantha holds a special place in Maggie's heart, and her dreams...
Groomsman
Nickname: "Mikey Casto" Elementary School Friend of the Groom A Doctor who was on the front lines of the New York City Covid-19 crisis, Mike bonded with Chris as roommates over their mutual affinity for social distancing long before it became the societal norm.
Officiant & Bridesguy
Nickname: "Jimbob" College Friend of the Bride and Godfather to Eleanor Coogan Michael; AKA 'Jimbob', AKA 'Bobby Boy', AKA 'JimBabe', AKA 'the Bobfather' is a man of many names, and many talents. One of the most intelligent, capable, and caring people you'll meet, Jimbob and Maggie met at UConn Freshman year after bonding over Jimbob's favorite Lifetime original film "Cyber Seduction" and their friendship has spanned many years and many continents since. Whether it's planning to move across the country, becoming a parent, or getting married, for Maggie, any major life change has to include Jimbob as a part of it somehow because it just wouldn't be the same otherwise.
Bridesguy & Wedding Crooner
College Friend of the Bride Never resting on his laurels and always there for the people around him, Miheer shares a 'special connection' with Maggie and Chris all the while balancing his friendships with his demanding doctoral schedule (you try being a board-certified pediatrician completing your SECOND residency in anesthesiology), singing talents, and political/social activism. Along with Jimbob, he is 1/3 of the Traveling Trio (Maggie à Trios) most known for his decision making capabilities (one of which was ultimately NOT to leave Maggie behind at the highest elevation point on the Inca Trail). To know him is to love him as he leaves a Dorito-dusted, pub cheese submerged handprint on the hearts of everyone he meets.
Flower Girl
Niece of the Bride When not being the protective, supportive big sister of her little siblings Emme and Halle, Quinn Sloan likes to appreciate the three O's in life: the Outdoors, Olives, and Olaf. Quinn is the most welcoming and loving little girl (truly her mother's daughter), and watching her grow up into such a wonderful person is one of the joys of Maggie and Chris' life.
Ring Bearer
Nephew of the Groom The older brother of Sawyer and a fun-loving 5 year old, Finn Plants enjoys Sharks, Dinosaurs, Sharks fighting Dinosaurs, being the light of his parents' life, not sleeping, and the color Purple (formerly the color Yellow). Chris and Maggie enjoy every chance they get to play with Finn (though questionable if they can always keep up) and love getting to know the great kid he's become.
Flower Girl
Niece of the Bride With a vocabulary arguably greater than the writer of this profile, Halle Sloan is a 2 year old with a sense of intuition well beyond her years. Since the birth of her twin nieces, Maggie will find any excuse she can to visit Andover to see the kids and help out once or twice a week, even if she's 'just in the neighborhood' in Burlington. Snuggles and kisses from Halle during those visits are always one of the biggest highlights.
Flower Girl
Niece of the Bride An aspiring daredevil, Emme Sloan is a child with an adventurous spirit and an empathetic heart. Always there with a stuffed animal and a hug when a sibling gets a scrape or a bruise, Emme lights up any room she happens to run her way into. Emme loves to hug Maggie with her sauce/dressing/chocolate covered hands at every dinner and only Emme would get a smile, laugh, and kiss in response (Chris' experience with Maggie has been very different).
Ring Bearer
Nephew of the Groom A child born at the start of a pandemic, for Sawyer Plants the 'new normal' is the only normal he's ever known. But to see his smiling face and that infectious laughter, you'd never know there's been anything wrong with the world at all. With mask restrictions starting to ease up he might be somewhat confused to find out all those strangers he's been seeing when outside the last year actually have faces though.
Baby of Honor
Daughter of the Bride & Groom On May 22nd, 2021, Maggie and Chris were given the greatest gift either of them have ever received when Eleanor Jean Coogan was born late in the evening. On that night the skies over Boston opened up and cheering could be heard echoing up and down the corridors of Beth Israel Hospital, as medical workers, staff and patients bellowed in celebration. At least that's the way this writer remembers it. Maggie and Chris are beyond elated to have such a cuddly, cute, happy baby in their lives and can not wait for their friends and family to meet her and share in the joy they are experiencing. Little Ella is also excited to watch her parents officially become married. We hope you can join us. * "Push Presents" are not and have never been a 'thing'.
