Hi! We're Getting Married!

Constance: Our story began with prayer, and a God who answered with a phenomenal sense of humor. We met at a gospel sing-a-long where our love for music and service in ministry collided. Jamarcus jokingly asked my father of a way he could become an honorary member of the Staley family. My answer was simple... "prayer is the key" because being in our family is great, but certainly not easy. My father's answer, however, was one that no one could have expected. He replied, "You could marry in". To this very day, I credit my father as being my greatest wingman. Jamarcus: It was indeed a question that started the journey to this blessed union. I had met Constance's parents several months before I met her. During the sing-a-long, Constance and her family had sung one of my favorite hymns called Great is thy Faithfulness. Apparently, I was extremely touched by the song and the singing that I jokingly approached her father, who I already knew, and asked how I can be an honorary part of the family. Her Father's response intrigued me -- and was unexpected. At first, I laughed it off, but something deep within caused me to take his words seriously. I strongly believe that it was the Holy Spirit. I then reached out to a mutual friend of Constance and I and began to inquire about who she was. I then asked the mutual friend to ask her on my behalf if she would be interested in me getting to know her. Well, as you can see, the rest is history. We will forever be grateful to God for orchestrating the crossing of our paths, and for giving us both the greatest gifts besides salvation... love and new beginnings.
