What will the wedding look like?

Dear family and friends, Many of you have been watching the news, as we have, with growing concern over the national COVID situation and the newly emerging (and rapidly proliferating) omicron variant. In order to let our guests know exactly what they will experience this coming weekend, we are outlining what is planned so everyone can make the best decision for their personal circumstance. Realizing of course that government mandates can change at any time, currently, no masks are required indoors in Arapahoe county for private events with fewer than 500 in attendance. Our current guest list totals 170. We are encouraging those of you who wish to wear masks, but will not be requiring anyone to do so. The bridal party has been asked not to wear a mask during the ceremony for photographing purposes. No negative COVID tests have been required for any who choose to attend. However, we are asking guests with COVID-like symptoms which began within ten days of January 2nd to stay home.

Please check in with us if you fall in this category so we can plan accordingly. We will miss you dearly! Appetizers will be passed by catering staff from 5PM to 6PM. The food for dinner will be offered in a self-serve buffet, and all serving staff will be masked. Dancing will proceed normally and all parts of the reception will be held indoors. There is a patio outside the church for those of you who would like to visit outside after the ceremony if you choose not to stay. All are welcome to any part of the day’s events which you are comfortable attending. If you have to change your plans, we hope you will watch our livestream by searching “Assumption of the Theotokos Cathedral Denver” on Youtube or facebook.
