Maid of Honor
Courtney and Mary met on their first grade soccer team, the Blue Crew, and they later became best friends in Mrs. Christman's 3rd grade class. There was no turning back once Mary decided to get the exact same haircut as Courtney. From countless soccer and softball tournaments to yearly Cedar Point trips to Fridays at Grandma Sally's, so many of Mary's best childhood memories include Court – and she'd have it no other way! A woman of many talents, Courtney's best skills include burping the alphabet and using both of her opposable thumbs.
Best Man
Drew has been Conor's best friend ever since they lived across the hall from each other their freshman year of college. Drew and Conor had a class together early in college, and Conor was super impressed with Drew's vocabulary in class discussion until he realized that Drew would just look up Merriam-Webster's word of the day and would find a way to incorporate it into conversation. Drew is a great friend who always makes Conor feel loved and appreciated but also keeps him humble with his sense of humor. Mary and Conor always enjoy seeing Drew and his husband Charlie in Boston and Chicago.
Matron of Honor
Megan and Mary met the first week of college and were instant friends. After graduating, they spent three glorious years living together in Chicago where they laughed nonstop, consumed a lot of Great British Bake Off, and accidentally adopted a pet rat for a few weeks. They have been confused for one another on more than one occasion, and it's hard to say who is more flattered by this comparison. When Megan was accepted to her residency in Chicago, Mary was thrilled that her best friend would stay in Chicago for several more years AND that she would likely now have unlimited access to free healthcare. If you're a plant parent, Megan can tell you everything there is to know about your plants, so come prepared with your questions.
Friend of the Groom
One of Conor's college friends, Firas sends Conor more memes than the rest of his friends combined. He lives in the Bay Area and will constantly tell you how great the weather is, even if you didn't ask and especially if the weather is miserable wherever you live.
Friend of the Bride
Emily "Voords" and Mary met freshman year of college in Ryan Hall and have stuck together since. From freshman year calculus to senior year RAs to ACE and beyond, Voords and Mary have been through it all. A true pal, Voords is always there to answer a spontaneous Facetime call, is equally as eager to skip the same events as Mary, and is always down to go to brunch.
Friend of the Groom
Sean and Conor became friends their senior of college. Conor had already decided that he would not make any new friends that year, but Sean wormed his way into Conor's heart. Sean is the handsome bearded gentleman featured on the right above. If you see Sean at the rehearsal dinner, please wish him a happy birthday!
Friend of the Bride
Due to a clerical error, Darby and Mary were assigned roommates in grad school (too many Marys!) – a delightful error that began a beautiful relationship. Their friendship started with a casual stroll with Darby's uncle to the ND cemetery and, thankfully, a cocktail shortly after. Darby is also Conor's teaching partner –something that brings Mary lots of joy since two of her favorite people work together.
Friend of the Groom
David and Conor met in college. When David met Mary for the first time, he said, "Conor is one of my best friends, but I would never say that to his face." He is the only person Conor has seen order liver and onions at a restaurant.
Friend of the Bride
If you ask Bella and Mary how long they've known each other, they'd tell you they've been best friends since strollers. With 7 brothers between them, they are the sisters they never had! On any given day growing up, you could catch Mary riding her bike to Bella's house, walking right in, and heading directly to the fridge to make a sandwich – whether Bella was there or not.
Friend of the Groom
Philip and Conor were roommates their junior year of college, a random match that resulted in a beautiful friendship and way too much fun that year for both of them. They also spent a memorable year in Oakland together drinking Lao beers and surviving post-college life.
Friend of the Bride
It all started in second grade when Elle stole Mary's pencil because she liked her handwriting so much. Through the years, they've had countless sleepovers, played in so many soccer tournaments, and passed an irresponsible number of notes high school (which usually included quotes from She's the Man). Mary could always count on Elle to forgive her for yelling, "This wasn't in the books!" when they saw the new Harry Potter movies in theaters at midnight.
Friend of the Groom
Conor met Willie "It's Will Now" Goodman in college. Conor loves that Will never hesitates to compliment his haircut or offer him a rum punch. Conor and Will laugh a lot when they're together, mostly at inside jokes they came up with eight years ago.
Friend of the Bride
Cristina and Mary have been friends since grade school. They stuck by each other through their awkward phases in middle school (though Cristina's was decidedly more awkward...we're talking popped collars and a lot of eye liner) and were each other's confidant in high school. Growing up, they spent most of their time together on the soccer field, but once they got to college, they pivoted to Classics Bar. Need a realtor? call (740) 816-3112
Friend of the Groom
When Oisín and Conor met in college, they could have sworn they were related. Alas no, but they are good buddies! Conor forgives Oisín for moving to the Bay Area right after he left - Oisín has made up for it, though, with plenty of great memories in the Bay and Chicago over the years.
Friend of the Bride
Christine and Mary met in college in Ryan Hall, and they lived together their junior year. One of Mary's most thoughtful and creative friends, Christine is probably painting a beautiful portrait for someone as we speak.
Friend of the Groom
Conor's oldest friend, Bobby can assure you that Conor hasn't changed much since he was 5 years old. Together, they have countless memories at the lake, on the ski slopes, or just hanging out, and the Bartels house was Conor's second home growing up.
Friend of the Bride
Hannah and Mary met freshman year of college and lived together their junior year. Hannah is the hostest with the mostest and the most fun and outgoing cat lady you'll ever encounter.
Friend of the Groom
Conor met Andy B in grad school where they both studied to be English teachers. They spent most of their time watching Cubs games and and avoiding doing their course readings. Andrew was there when Conor asked Mary for her number and patiently listened as Conor agonized over what to say when he texted her.
Sister of the Groom
The only thing that Haley loves more than her family is Disney. Or Pure Barre. Or maybe Lucie (the family dog). Living in LA, Haley always wins the "Furthest Traveled" award at the holidays, and she might possibly win it again at our wedding. If over the weekend you need a partner on the dance floor, a buddy to take a shot with, or even a quick Barre lesson, Haley is your gal.
Friend of the Groom
Emilio and Conor spend most of their time together eating too many cheeseburgers and occasionally off-roading on city bikes. Emilio is Matron of Honor Megan's husband and one of Conor's favorite people in Chicago.
Sister of the Groom
Erin and Mary were quarantine bunkmates in the early days of the pandemic. Currently, Erin is Mary's Tik-Tok curator and her go-to for any short-form media. If you ask her nicely, she will perform for you Easy Terms from the musical Blood Brothers.
Friend of the Groom
Seth and Conor met through work and became fast friends - literally. He, Conor, and Mary ran a half marathon together. Conor and Mary trained for months and Seth just sort of felt like going on a run that weekend. The kids at school call him Dr. P, and you can too!
Sister of the Groom
Meagan and Mary are the ND science majors of the family. Meagan does not get enough credit for her quick wit and sense of humor. Even though she wins almost every time the Lucks play Quiplash, someone always says, "I didn't know Meagan was funny!"
Brother of the Bride
Ben is Mary's oldest brother and also the oldest member of the wedding party. The first time he met Conor, he gave him a firm handshake and said, "I'm Ben Wickert." Don't let that intimidate you, though: Ben will be the first one to drop it low on the dance floor.
Sister of the Groom
Mary and Brady are both the youngest in their families and are both used to getting kicked out of their rooms when guests are in town (as a frequent visitor, Mary would like to use this platform to formally apologize to Brady). Brady and Conor also have a lot in common - they share a love of moody music, reading and writing, and cheese. Brady has no discernible sleep schedule. If we had to rate Brady, we’d give her a 6.
Brother of the Bride
Tom is the only one of Mary's brothers who shares her love of soccer. Tom has opinions on everything. Ask him about home improvement, birds, or anything Chicago-related. Avoid asking him about driving etiquette, online workplace communication, or falsettos.
Brother of the Bride
The loudest member of the wedding party, Moose is Mary's youngest older brother. He and Conor love the same dumb TV shows that they quote back and forth to each other. Moose is a homeowner, he has a great job with healthcare and benefits, and he is somehow still single, ladies!
