Getting to Telluride

Telluride is not the easiest place to get to. Ticket prices vary often so we recommend checking periodically. MTJ (Montrose Airport) is the closest to Telluride and from there it is a 1 hour and 20 minute drive into Telluride. If you need a car rental for the duration of your stay, you can get one at the airport. Another option is taking a shuttle - there are several companies that do daily trips to and from MTJ and Telluride. Telluride Express (970.728.6000) will offer a 10% discount with code 16747 for the Collins/Pelton Wedding when making reservations. Some people choose to fly into DIA (Denver International Airport) and enjoy a 6 hour scenic drive to Telluride. Tickets to DIA can sometimes be more wallet friendly. Alternative airports to keep an eye on are Grand Junction and Durango (both 2 hours 20 minutes away) .

I would encourage everyone to stay either in the heart of Telluride or in Mountain Village where you can enjoy free gondola services to and from town (6:30 am to Midnight daily), and not worry about driving. We are setting up a few room blocks at the most affordable hotels in town, but you can also check out airbnb.com, vrbo.com, invitedhome.com, www.tellurideluxury.co, or any of the other many hotels in the area. This is likely the most cost-friendly option, but there is the possibility it may be a bit noisy as this is a motel-style hotel. However, you cannot beat the location (right downtown -- one block from the bars, one block to the gondola).
