Tourist shops right on the water of Kachemak Bay
Great for a late night sunset beach walk. This is Zoe's favorite place in Homer!
Great breakfast crêpes and coffee!
Offers a tap room and tour of the local winery. They also offer local lodging! Try the summer seasonal Peach Apricot or the classic Raspberry Rossa!
Pizza, sandwiches, salads, and soups!
Located off the road system with some of the most incredible mountain and glacier views. Easily accessible via the Kachemak Bay Water Taxi!
Featured in our wedding, their unique mead flights will excite your taste buds! Sit by the fire or explore the shop next door!
For those of you who haven't ever seen a glacial lake, you're in for a treat. My favorite part of the drive down south is always Cooper Landing and the bright blue waters of the lake and rivers.
Definitely not a brief stop, but if you happen to be taking time in Seward, this is the trail to hit. With two different experience options, the trail is a great moderate to hard hike with spectacular views of Exit Glacier that will leave you feeling like you're in Ice Age the movie.
The only way to experience this national park is on the water! We highly recommend Major Marine Tours and have had great luck seeing sea lions, puffins, seals, otters, bald eagles, jellyfish, and whales with them. While our wedding is slightly after the typical orca whale season in Kenai Fjords, never say never!
Girdwood is one of the most popular ski towns. In the summer, the area offers good hiking trails, the Alyeska Nordic Spa and is a good last place to stop for snacks or gas before continuing down the peninsula. There are numerous roadside bathrooms on the drive, but options for meals are limited until the Cooper Landing/Soldotna area.
Near and dear to our hearts, we absolutely recommend stopping by on your way down to Homer to view Alaskan musk ox, moose, wolves, bobcats, fox, reindeer, black and brown bears, bison, and caribou!
An easy to moderate hike up the most beloved peak of the Chugach Front Range. We recommend hiking from the Flattop Sunnyside Trailhead. If you want the views of Anchorage without the work, the Flattop Overlook Trail is a great option!
Our go to sweet spot!
Some of the best pizza in the state! We recommend hitting the lunch rush versus the dinner rush due to wait times. A good back up is Uncle Joe's Pizza!
If you're looking to find moose, this is where they're hiding! There's also some spectacular views of the city and even better views for watching airplanes take off!
If you were looking for bears, here's where you'll find them! Both black and brown bears love this area in the summer. Remember to leave plenty of space, carry bear-spray (we can gladly lend any to guests with advanced notice), and practice safe bear awareness!
This is probably one of my favorite short hikes near Anchorage! You can also check out Thunderbird Falls on the way back!
Because if you know us, you know we've searched high and low for the best strawberry frosted with sprinkles.
