Every Saturday the largest producer's only farmers market in the country takes over the Capitol Square. Grab some coffee and spicy cheesy bread and walk around the square to browse for some fresh cheese curds, pastries, veggies, and crafts.
The highlight of UW's campus, enjoy a pitcher of spotted cow right on Lake Mendota! You can also explore the walking paths along the lake and campus.
A 10 minute drive from the square, this free botanical garden is a beautiful spot for a nice walk and is right across the street from Lake Monona and the Olbrich Biergarten!
An hour drive from Madison, this state park is beautiful (especially in the fall!) and absolutely worth the drive for a nice hike.
