If you're flying:
SBA (Santa Barbara Airport) airport is local and is the most convenient, at 13 miles north of Downtown Santa Barbara. Many major hubs connect to it, and Southwest just opened a flight lane in and out of SBA.
LAX (Los Angeles Intl) and BUR (Hollywood Burbank) airports are both about 2 hours south of downtown Santa Barbara (depending on traffic).
The SB Airbus also offers transportation options from LAX airport (~2 hr drive from Santa Barbara; $50 one-way).
If you plan on booking a rental car, we suggest doing so well in advance due to recent shortages.
Amtrak from Southern California:
Multiple departures daily from San Diego, Los Angeles, & Santa Barbara
The Pacific Surfliner travels along a 351-mile route through San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties, with portions of the route hugging the Southern California coastline. The historic Santa Barbara train station is located right in the heart of the action.
