We Got Married!

It was the year 2022. . .

On July 3rd, 2022, Connor and Simon got married in an open field outside of Yosemite, California. It was a wonderful small ceremony with immediate family, officiated by their brothers. Now that that's done, they want to celebrate with you! On November 12th, 2022, there will be a celebration at Elachee Nature Science Center in Gainesville, Georgia and you're invited! Please peruse the website for more details and feel free to reach out to Connor and Simon with any questions.

How We Met

It was the year 2018. . .

Simon and Connor met while both of them were working in Yosemite National Park, California. Simon was working in the volunteer office for Yosemite Conservancy, the park's nonprofit partner, and Connor started work with the National Park's volunteer office. The day Connor and Simon met, Connor was wearing a tiara along with all of her office mates to celebrate their coworker's birthday! Simon gave Connor a box of his mom's cookies to add to the celebration, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

It was the year 2021. . .

Connor and Simon were still working, adventuring, and loving life in Yosemite National Park, California. Their summer weekends were spent up in the high-country, or Tuolumne Meadows, where the elevation provided relief from the Yosemite Valley heat. One of their favorite climbs was up a mountain called Cathedral Peak, and they had done it a few times at this point. One weekend, Simon's brother, Jake, came into town and there was talk about taking him up Cathedral Peak with all the climbing gear, but it was ultimately decided it might be too big of an adventure for the three of them. Instead, they decided to hike a new trail to the base of the peak to soak in the views, hang by the lakes, and generally just enjoy the Wilderness. Unknowingly, Connor threw a wrench into Simon's proposal plans when they all got to the first lake and she declared she didn't want to go to the base of the peak. Why would she? She'd seen it before! She'd just hang out lakeside and wait for the boys to come back! Scrambling for a new plan, Simon convinced Connor to come up to the base of the peak under the guise that they could turn the hike into a loop instead of an out-and-back. Reluctantly, Connor decided to come along. Once they arrived at the base, Jake started to wonder off and Simon started dropping his day pack and hat. Connor was utterly confused, because being a red-head, she couldn't just stop at the 10,000 feet elevation without being in the shade, or she would become incredibly sunburned. She started picking up all of Simon's things and getting concerned with where Jake was wondering off to, when she turned around to see Simon down on one knee with a ring box! It was the happiest surprise for Connor and as you've probably guessed, she said yes! What was Jake doing there you might ask? He was there to capture the happy moment for all of eternity!
