Flight
The Florence Airport is located about 20 minutes from the villa and is the most direct to fly into. However, the airport is smaller and only has flights to and from other EU countries. Meaning, you will have to connect in Europe to fly in here. Additionally, flights into Florence are more expensive than flights into Rome or Venice.
Flight
You can fly into Rome and take the train to Florence (see below). For those flying in from major or hub cities, you may find that you can fly directly into Rome and likely for cheaper than flying into Florence.
Train
If you choose to fly in from Rome, you can take the Italia Rail train from the airport in Rome to Florence. The trip is 2 hours 24 mins and costs around €18. We took Italia Rail during our trip and found that it was clean, safe, air conditioned (most of the time), and shockingly on time.
