Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

To help us plan ahead, please RSVP by March 1st 2025.

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Yes. “Western Formal”. Please wear black. Think cowboy, but elevated. For the gentlemen - suits, boots, bolo ties and cowboy hats; for the ladies - long black dresses, boots and cowboy hats. Keep in mind, the venue is outdoors in a meadow with uneven terrain. Boots are highly recommended, delicate shoes will not fare well. PS. Once the sun goes down, the temperature will drop. We’re in the mountains- the weather can change quickly. If you chill easily, bring a jacket or shawl.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! There are many hotel options in town (Ketchum) and Sun Valley (the resort) in all price points. Check out our “Travel & Accommodations” section and pick a spot that works best for you and how you plan to enjoy your time. If you prefer to rent a condo or home, search Sun Valley or Ketchum. There are also great rentals in Elkhorn and Warm Springs; both areas are technically part of Sun Valley.Ketchum, but may not be walkable to town. Transportation to and from the wedding will be provided. Shuttles will pick up and drop off within the Sun Valley/Ketchum areas, exact locations TBD. For ultimate convenience, lodging in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area is recommended.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the wedding?

Answer

Yes - Shuttles will leave from and return to locations in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area, Precise meeting points and timing TBD. Shuttles will run throughout the evening.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, if you choose to drive yourself to and from the wedding, there is a small parking lot. Cars can be left over night and picked up by 9 am the next morning. We do, however, encourage you to use the provided shuttles as the roads are very dark and the venue is off a maintained dirt road.

Question

What are some examples of western themed attire?

Answer

For the Thursday night welcome party- Casual cocktail attire. Button down shirts, jeans, boots, cowboy hats, sundresses etc; lean into the theme and have fun with it! For the Friday night wedding: Formal attire, dress in black. Think black suits, boots, bolo ties and cowboy hats for the gents. For the ladies, long dresses, boots, cowboy hats, and a coat or wrap!

Question

Do we need to rent a car ?

Answer

Once you are in Sun Valley/ Ketchum, most everything can be accessed by walking, biking or by using “Mountain Rides”, the free Town Bus that serves Sun Valley, Ketchum, Warm Springs and Elkhorn. The Sun Valley Lodge and The Limelight Hotel provide free shuttle service to and from the local airport (SUN) by request. If traveling in and out of Boise or Twin Falls, a rental car is a good move. The Turo app (like Airbnb for car rental) is another transportation option and offers great deals. If you plan to explore outside the Sun Valley/Ketchum area, you may want your own car. The free public transportation (Mountain Rides) stops at MIDNIGHT and there are very minimal Ubers/Lyfts or taxis in town. Being walking distance to your hotel or rental is advantageous if you plan to stay out late.

Question

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

The Wedding on June 27 is Adults Only. However, we want you to be able to enjoy the weekend as your own vacation, so if you would like to bring your kids on the trip please do! Local babysitters can be arranged, just ask us or click the link for the babysitter site. We will have wifi calling and texting for those who have babysitters and need to have communication with their families. Check out the local sitter option below Sun Valley Super Sitters https://www.sunvalleysupersitters.com/

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely. Please notate any concerns when you RSVP.

Question

Are Sun Valley and Ketchum the same place?

Answer

Basically, yes. Sun Valley is the resort, Ketchum is the town. Sun Valley Lodge, Sun Valley Inn, and Sun Valley Village are all part of the resort, and a 5 minute drive (or a lovely, flat 20 minute walk) from Ketchum. Sun Valley & Ketchum sit at about 6000 ft elevation.

Question

Is there cell service at the wedding venue?

Answer

There is no cell service at the Friday night wedding. We’ll be off-the-grid and up in the mountains. There is a landline onsite and limited wifi service for those who need to stay in contact with their babysitters and kids in town.

Question

What will the weather be like in June?

Answer

We’re in the Rocky Mountains- weather can fluctuate! Keep an eye on the temps and pack accordingly. Generally you can expect warm, even hot days and cool/cold nights. Sun Valley sits at a comfortable 6000 foot elevation; the wedding venue is at 7100 feet. You may want a coat or wrap with you at the wedding, the temperatures will drop once the sun goes down.
