We met over wine a little over two years ago. Wine as it turns out, seems to be a theme for the major moments in our lives.. no complaints here. In a little wine bar in West Town Chicago, we got to know each other. We knew right away that there would be a second date, and many more after that. Our next dates took us to places like a hidden Chicago patio for Italian food and confirmation of our mutual love of Disney's cult classic The Newsies. Next, a trip to the Shedd Aquarium, where Travis got to test the relationship boundaries by emphasizing that he is a fish guy. After that galvanizing evening, our relationship was off and rolling. Around eights months into our budding dynamic, the pandemic hit. As Chicago shutdown, it was time for Meghan to treat her downtown apartment as a vacation home and head a couple miles northwest to Bucktown. She joined Travis and Nova for a whirlwind adventure of living life together and navigating the new world. When we weren't dumping sanitizer on everything, we developed our skills as board game players, dog hide and seekers, FaceTime fanatics, sommeliers, and world-class chefs (as judged by Nova). Fast forward a year and we were off to Sonoma for a wine weekend with our good friends Brett and Nat. Unbeknownst to Meghan, Travis was carrying a bit of hardware in his black beanie. Assuming he was just trying to look hip, she was never the wiser. To her surprise, upon arriving at Bartholomew Estate Vineyard, Travis proposed.. and of course she said yes. Throughout our relationship, we have been blessed with the love and support of our family and friends. Both of us have gotten to spend wonderful time with each other's families and feel we are stepping into the next phase of our lives with their complete support. On the friends side, we have had so much fun getting to know the important people in our lives and look forward to meeting more as the world opens back up. Thank you all for your love and support - we hope to see you soon!
