Two Become One

Meeghan had been attending Owen's Community College in Findlay for CAD Technology. Everyone always asked her why she didn't just meet a nice boy at college. Little did they know that her classes were typically middle aged, factory workers. After some disastrous relationships, she had given up on men to focus on school... until she walked into her first class of her new semester. She noticed this shy cute guy across the room who was actually her age but figured nothing would happen. Once that class concluded, he actually came up to her and talked to her. They stood in Owen's parking lot at 8pm for over an hour just talking. When he asked if she would like to go get coffee sometime. She said no and explained that she doesn't drink coffee. He then asked if she would like to get some tea then. Once again, she said no and crushed his heart. Once she knew he wasn't going to try again, she said that she drinks hot chocolate though. They ended up having a second class together two days later. Once again, they were in the parking lot for well over an hour talking late at night when they decided to go to Applebee's for half price apps and to get to know each other. When they finally had to go home after the restaurant closed, she actually made the first move and kissed him goodbye. They've been inseparable ever since.

If anybody truly knows Meeghan or her mother, they would know they tend to overthink and analyze literally everything. That trait was definitely not in her favor on their two year anniversary. Once again, if anyone truly knows Meeghan, they know that she does not enjoy dressing up whatsoever. So for their two year anniversary, Colton told her to dress nice for his plans that night. He kept insisting it had to be work nice or nicer. Of course this bothered her because there's nothing that fancy anywhere near Findlay. He then took her to Texas Roadhouse which really perplexed her because it made no sense to be that well dressed. After dinner, he insisted they had to go to her parent's friend's house where they were all camping for dessert. She insisted that they not go because she didn't want to get her work clothes dirty. Still, he said they had to go to which she countered with staying in the car and only picking up the dessert and leaving. Once he said she absolutely had to get out of the car, everything clicked and she ruined the first proposal.

Meeghan was completely heartbroken that she ruined the first proposal. If she hadn't overthought the clothes, she would have been 100% surprised by the proposal. She was then depressed because she knew the ring was in the house and knew it would happen at any point and wouldn't be as surprised as she would have originally been. With that being said, it was the NTPA Tractor Pulls at the Hancock County Fair and they had been so busy all year that they hadn't made it to any other pulls.They both agreed to go to the fair despite the nearly 100 degree temperatures. She figured surely he wouldn't try and redo it so soon. Her best friend Zab ended up joining them at the pulls which completely surprised her and she figured something had to be up because why else would she agree to go. Colton finally said he was too tired to stay and they decided to leave so she gave up on the idea that he was going to ask her that night. As the were walking behind the bleachers away from all the people, Zab called her name to have her turn around and as she did, Colton was on one knee, ring in hand. Of course she said yes. :D
