We often stroll across the street from our apartment to grab a bite at The Bar. This cozy sports bar offers a variety of food options and serves up the BEST fries!
The Peanut
Another fantastic sports bar in the area is The Peanut, famous for their incredible wings. Pro tip: order half as many as you think you’ll need—they serve the entire wing, and they’re huge!
Minsky's
If you're in the mood for pizza, Minsky's is a must-try! Their Papa Minsky is one of the best—. it’s definitely one of our favorites and a great choice for anyone who loves a hearty, flavorful pizza!
Joe's KC BBQ
A trip to KC isn’t complete without indulging in some world-famous barbecue! Head to Joe’s, a former gas station turned barbecue hotspot, and be sure to try their legendary onion rings and fries—you won’t regret it!
Jack Stack Barbecue - Overland Park
Another barbecue hotspot, known for its mouthwatering burnt ends and tender ribs, it’s a great spot to enjoy classic KC flavors. Be sure to try their famous cheesy corn and delicious baked beans to complete the meal! Perfect for a relaxed yet flavorful dining experience.
Blue Sushi Sake Grill
If you’re in KC and craving sushi, Blue Sushi is one of our go-to spots! The vibe is relaxed and the rolls are always fresh and delicious. They’ve got a great variety, whether you’re into classic sushi or something a little more adventurous. Definitely recommend trying their crab Rangoons —it’s one of our favorites!
Bella Napoli
Bella Napoli is a hidden gem in KC for amazing Italian food! Their pasta is always fresh, and the cozy, welcoming vibe makes it feel like you’re dining at a friend’s house. If you’re a fan of traditional Italian dishes, you can’t go wrong here. Be sure to try their Arancini app!
Meadowbrook Park
Want to take your kids somewhere to burn some energy? Or take your pup for a good walk after traveling with you, Meadowbrook Park is a perfect place to do so! It has a few playgrounds and wonderful walking pathways!
Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
If you're bringing kids to the wedding and looking for something fun to do in Kansas City, the Kansas City Zoo is a great option! It’s a fantastic spot for kids to explore, with tons of animals, interactive exhibits, and even a cool African Safari section. The brand new aquarium is complete and beyond nice to see! The zoo is big enough to make a day of it but still manageable with little ones. Perfect for a fun family outing while you're in town for the wedding!

Fritz’s is such a fun spot, especially if you’re looking for a cool experience with the kids! It’s a retro-style diner where your food gets delivered by a miniature train running above your table. The burgers and shakes are delicious, and the whole atmosphere is super playful and nostalgic. It’s a great place to grab a casual meal and enjoy something a little quirky while you’re in Kansas City! Not to mention Fritz is Collyn's great grandfather!
