This bougey quaint town sits next to a stunning waterfall and is fun to walk around. The boutiques are completely unaffordable but fun to peruse and people watch. The dining options in town are more reasonable. Options include: - The Owl (a wine bar with great pizza) - The Smithy Cafe (a breakfast/lunch cafe with a high-end grocery store across the street. They have amazing sandwiches, salads, produce, etc..)
A nice place to hang out by the lake and take a dip if you are a cold plunger like Billy. Julie and Billy put in their kayak and paddle from here all the time.
One of the county's oldest and most well-preserved towns.
This 4,000 acre conservation center has an amazing 40-mile network of chill hiking trails with varied ecosystems (wetlands, pine forest, lakefronts, etc..). There is also a nature center which offers some pretty cool show-and-tells.
A short but somewhat steep 2 mile out and back hike with a fantastic view of Lake Waramaug and the surrounding hills. This will be a GREAT spot for leaf peeping. There is very little parking at trailhead but its very close by to several of our arranged accommodations around Lake Waramaug.
