Things to Do in Des Moines
Iowa State Capitol
A highlight of Des Moines, the state Capitol is worth a stop! Taylor worked in the Governor’s office from 2018-2020. Savannah worked in the Iowa House of Representatives and the Office of the Speaker from 2017-2021. Taylor is in his first term as State Representative in the Iowa House of Representatives for District 95. The building is open to the public for tours.
Des Moines Downtown Farmers’ Market
Saturday mornings on Court Avenue are a Des Moines staple. Take a walk to see hundreds of local vendors and don’t forget Taylor’s favorite stop - the breakfast burrito bowl!
Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden
The botanical garden is a warm spot to spend an hour or so and explore. This is one of Savannah’s favorite spots to escape Iowa’s frigid winter months! The gardens have a small cafe open to the public with drinks, small plates, and desserts.
The Iowa Taproom
Looking for a bite to eat and a cold beer? Have you ever seen a grain bin in the middle of a restaurant? If you want easy and casual dining, stop by one of Taylor & Savannah's favorite spots in the East Village. The cheese curds can’t be beat!

You'll find these sweet treats at the dessert table on Saturday night! Molly’s has coffee, cheesecake, cupcakes, ice cream, and is a great spot to spend a little time.
