Will the ceremony and reception be held in the same place?

Answer

Yes, the wedding ceremony and reception will both be held at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Gentlemen are asked to wear a coat with a tie being encouraged but not required. Ladies are asked to wear a dress, dressy separates, or a pantsuit. Please no jeans or sneakers.

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Yes! If you choose to bring your children, please note them in your RSVP total. If you want a date night that's fine too!

How far is the venue and hotels from the airport?

15-20 minute drive.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. The north entrance of the venue is wheelchair accessible and there is an elevator to take guests to all three floors of the building.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

No. There is no parking at the venue as it is located in downtown Des Moines. Surrounding the venue is street parking which is free after 5:00pm on Saturdays in Des Moines. The majority of the suggested hotels are within reasonable walking distance of the venue.

What is the East Village?

Answer

The East Village is the East side of the river in downtown Des Moines. Two of the suggested hotels are located in the area surrounded by local restaurants and coffee shops.
