Things To Do
Ketchikan has a lot to offer, even in the winter.
One of the first places Krista and I ever hung out together is the famous Ward Lake, offering a beautiful mile-long walk around the lake and, for the most part, can be accessed even in winter.
Other notable family-friendly hikes are Silvas Lake, Lunch Creek and Carlanna Lake, all of which have been hiked by Collin and Krista in the winter.
Check out historic Creek Street. There are a lot of cool, old buildings housing adorable local shops, built along Ketchikan Creek in the heart of downtown Ketchikan.
Krista's number one favorite place is Ketchikan Public Library. Sitting above downtown Ketchikan, the library offers amazing Southeast Alaska rainforest views, artwork created by local artists (including an incredible quilted tree in the Children's library) and cozy nooks to curl up with a favorite book.
The Ketchikan Rec Center offers workout activities and houses a swimming pool complete with water slides and toddler water play area.
