Are there any religious nuances I should be aware of?Are there any religious nuances I should be aware of?

Answer

The Sikh temple requires guests to be barefoot, socks can be worn if preferred. The Sikh temple requires guests to cover their heads. Women can use the scarf portion that comes with the Indian outfit or any scarf/pashmina shawl. For Men we suggest a bandana. There will also be bandanas available onsite if needed. The Sikh ceremony requires guests to sit on the ground, we will have seating for guests who are unable to do so. When sitting on the ground, please do not point your feet towards the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (Holy Scripture). Try to remain in a legs crossed position or angle your feet to either side of you. ** Please see Ceremony Guide for additional information that was sent with Save the Dates, more will be available during the Wedding**
