The closest entrance is the North Entrance, about 40 minutes from Sage Lodge and 1 hour from Livingston. We recommend downloading the GuideAlong app for your park trip. There’s very limited cell service in Yellowstone, and the app uses GPS to play audio commentary as you drive—pointing out viewpoints, hidden gems, history, and geology. Plan to grab lunch/snacks/drinks before entering, as food options inside the park are limited and spread out. Must see: Grand Prismatic Spring – massive hot spring with vibrant colors. Old Faithful – iconic geyser with predictable eruptions. Mammoth Hot Springs – unique travertine terraces and historic buildings. Norris Geyser Basin – geothermal features and Steamboat Geyser. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone – dramatic canyon and waterfalls with views from Artist Point. Yellowstone Lake – the largest high-elevation lake in North America. Hayden Valley – great for spotting bison and elk. Lamar Valley – “America’s Serengeti,” known for wolves and bison.
Located at Chico Hot Springs, Rockin’ HK Outfitters offers guided horseback rides through Paradise Valley. This is where Craig and I did ours during our first trip to MT, and it was such a fun way to see the valley! They make it easy for all experience levels, and it’s one of those “must do" things when you’re in Montana.
Located about 25 minutes from Sage Lodge and 45 minutes from Livingston. Craig and I spent a half day here and had such a great experience, we highly recommend! Yellowstone Hot Springs is a relaxing, mineral-rich soaking experience. The pools sit along the Yellowstone River with views of Paradise Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. Relax in the 104º hot plunge or cool off in the 60–65º cold plunge, all with mountain and river views. They also have a small café onsite offering breakfast sandwiches, pastries, lattes, and coffee in the morning, plus warm paninis, sandwiches, and fresh salads throughout the day.

The property offers several additional activities, including horseback riding through Rockin' HK Outfitters, hiking, a day spa, live music, and on-site dining options.
Sage Lodge Loop- there are a few walking/hiking trails that start right behind the lodge, with scenic loops through open fields and mountain views. Most people do the ~3-mile loop, but you can shorten or extend it. Located 5 minutes from Sage Lodge and 25 minutes from Livingston. Old Saloon has been a Paradise Valley landmark since 1902. It started as a true Western stop for travelers and cowboys and still keeps that authentic Montana feel with good food, live music, dancing, and classic saloon vibes.
Located 3 minutes from Sage Lodge. Similar to Old Saloon, it's a classic western dive bar with great food (highly recommend the pizza) and an awesome outdoor hangout area.
Located 25 minutes from Livingston and 5 minutes from Sage Lodge. Wild Flour has the best pastries and coffee to get your morning started! **In the afternoon, this spot turns into Follow Yer Nose, which serves the best BBQ we've ever had!**
Wonderland is well known for their amazing scones, beverages, grab and go lunches, and dinner. Stop here on your way into or out of Yellowstone National Park as they are one of the last restaurants before the north park entrance in Gardiner.

Downtown Bozeman is a charming main street filled with shops, cafés, restaurants, and local boutiques. Favorite Restaurants - Revelry, Jam! Blackbird, Brigade, Cafe Fresco, Map Brewing Company, Wild Crumb, J.W. Heist Steakhouse, Little Star Diner. Rocking R Bar is a really fun place to go out at night and more importantly, it has a mechanical bull :)
