Where’s the hotel block?

Answer

We have reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Wingate at Asheville Airport. The room has a fantastic rate of $129 before taxes and offers a free shuttle to and from the airport. Please note that the hotel is across the street from the airport and is NOT in a scenic part of town. You must reserve your room by August 8 (use the link provided or call and say you're in our party!) to receive the discount.

Question

What is the Welcome Party Friday night?

Answer

The Welcome Party is an opportunity for everyone to hang out, enjoy some desserts and brews in a casual environment. The party takes place at the Wedge at Foundation (there are two Wedges, so please include “at foundation” when you google) in the River Arts District which is an incredible spot for exploring galleries and shops earlier in the day.

Are kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

Unfortunately, we do not have space on our guest list to accommodate all of our guests’ children. Unless the child fits in your lap or is explicitly invited on your invitation, we unfortunately cannot have them at the party. We have, however, secured childcare for the entire night for $30 per child. A local gymnastics studio has a "Parents' night out" the same day of the wedding, keeping kids until midnight! If you want to take advantage of this option, please let us know ASAP in your RSVP to the wedding ceremony!

Will you have vegetarian options available at the reception?

Answer

We are catering from 12 Bones, one of the most popular barbecue spots in the southeast. We are receiving vegetarian “tempeh” barbecue from another restaurant in North Asheville that is, as my sister called it, “lit.” Have other dietary restrictions? Let us know and we will do our best to accommodate!

What would you like for a wedding gift? Where is your registry?

Answer

Gifts are awesome, but you being at our party is more awesome. Please do not feel obligated to give a gift. We have too much stuff as is, and are asking that if you choose to give a gift, in lieu of a physical gift, you help us reach important milestones in our relationship such as a downpayment on our first house or chipping in for a honeymoon. We are also accepting donations for Hope Animal Rescue, where we got dear Tadpole. You can find the registry on the "registry" tab of our site.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation includes the name of your partner or "& guest" and/or your RSVP includes a plus one, you are good to go for a plus one. If there is a special someone in your life, please let us know and we will do our absolute best to accommodate, but we have squeezed every possible spot we have because we love people so much. SO much.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We'd rather you have a beer in your hand than a phone. We are asking guests to put phones away during the ceremony (our professional photographer will kill it, we promise!) but snap as many as you want during cocktail hour or at the reception!

I see you’re doing Jiu Jitsu…what is that?

Answer

Jiu Jitsu is a submission grappling sport with origins in Japan and Brazil. Students learn how to gain dominant position and submit their opponents through chokes, breaks, or locks. Very romantic.

I want to take the Jiu Jitsu class and/or open mat on Friday, how do I register?

Answer

Just RSVP for the event and we will send you registration information closer to the event!

What grappling/training options are available Saturday morning?

Answer

American Top Team has an open mat from 10-12 Saturday morning: go to americantopteamasheville.com for more information. We'll be sending more information to our BJJ fam about BJJ related options closer to the event.
