How far is the venue from the hotel?
Answer
Just a few steps away! The Appalachian Hotel is right next door to the Red Tail Lodge reception venue. If you're staying in the townhouses, you can take a short (2 minute shuttle) to the ceremony and reception location (It's walking distance, but you'll probably get sweaty).

I heard there's a gondola ride to get to the ceremony? That's so exciting! Tell me more!
Answer
The gondola takes about 6 minutes to get to the top of the mountain and it will drop you off right in the ceremony area. Each gondola bucket can hold up to 6 people at a time and will be running continuously from 4:45-5:15 . There are no seats in the bucket, but there will be chairs available if you would rather sit on the way up! It is a beautiful ride with some pretty great views :)

The weather will most likely be perfect on your special day, but what's the plan just in case?

If there is bad weather, then the ceremony will be in the same place as the reception - the Red Tail Lodge. Good news is that it's a shorter route to the dance floor :)
