Homestead Heritage, a quaint little village of old country charm, with historic sites, crafting, shopping and restaurants. It really is worth the time to explore. There’s no fee to get in or park. You’ll do a lot off walking to explore the several buildings on the property, all nestled in a beautiful country setting.

There are several fishing spots in the area. Lake Whitney is around a 25-30 minute drive from the venue, and is our favorite spot. There are several boat rental places around the lake. Click the link to explore. The link will aslo show you the other parks in the area. All of the local Walmarts sell fishing permits and bait. Park closes daily at 10pm.
There is a zoo in Cameron Park, along with several hiking and sight seeing areas all through the 460 acre park. Bring good walking shoes.

Be prepared to stand in line at the bakery counter; don’t worry, the line moves quickly and the Kolaches are delicious.
