Jake and Colleen both moved to Colorado in 2021. A few weeks after Colleen moved to Breck, she moved in with Katina and Emily. Katina happened to be childhood best friends with Adam and Jake Leonard, who were in the same fraternity in college and convinced Jake Wilson to move out to Colorado to work for Pinnacle, where Colleen and Jake both work now. Adam invited the girls over for taco night, and that’s where it all really started. What began as a casual dinner turned into a friendship with the whole group. For a few months, Colleen and Jake were just friends, mostly because Colleen had absolutely no idea Jake wanted to be anything more. Then one night out, their friend Liv randomly said, “What do you think about Jake Wilson?” And Colleen responded, “What about Jake Wilson?” which made her think of Jake in a new light. They started hanging out more often. After a few months of trying very hard not to date so they wouldn’t ruin the friend group, Jake finally asked Colleen to be his girlfriend at Arapahoe Basin on May 5th after confidently telling her he would be a really great boyfriend. She already knew he was an incredible friend and person and decided she might be ready to take the chance. Three months later, they said “I love you” on her birthday weekend, the very same weekend they’re getting married four years later. Pretty quickly, they both knew this was it. They moved into a house with their best friends, adopted the sweetest girl in the entire world, Millie, and started building their life side by side. On their third anniversary, Jake got down on one knee on a beach in Lake Powell with just the two of them and Millie there and asked her to spend forever together. They are so excited to share their love with all of their family and friends this summer and show everyone why they fell so hard for each other and love the life they’ve built together in Colorado.
