Our Story

Though we always vaguely knew each other growing up in the same town, we “officially” met in our 10th-grade homeroom history class. We were also in a graphic design class together, and it was there that we truly started talking. It took a whole school year for us to admit our feelings for each other, though we both knew long before then that we had crushes. Colin was always finding ways to talk to Meg and constantly made her laugh when he sat behind her in class. Megan was generally a very good student, but often found herself getting distracted by his attempts to reel her in with his humor and personality (it worked). At the beginning of the following summer, Colin asked her to come over to his house and asked her to be his girlfriend that night. We went on to date for four years, went to prom together, toured colleges, hit all the big teenage milestones, and eventually graduated and went to the same college, IUP. We stayed together during our freshman year at IUP and then broke up at the beginning of our sophomore year. After that, we spent six years apart, figuring out who we were, dating other people, moving to different parts of the country, and still always finding ourselves thinking of each other. We would always make our way back, but something seemed to get in the way each time. Finally, after Meg lived in Florida for two years, she moved back to Pittsburgh and messaged Colin on a whim. We started talking, and when we hung out for the first time, it felt just like we were 16 again. We ended up confessing that we had always loved each other, and we’ve been together ever since. That was in the summer of 2023, and now we live together and are engaged! We couldn’t be more excited to spend the rest of our lives together and build our future as husband and wife. Fun fact: Our moms were nurses on the same floor at Forbes Hospital and worked together when we were little. When Colin was around four or five, he attended Megan’s dad Denny’s Heads Up Baseball camps, where Denny gave him baseball cards. Funny enough, now Colin and Denny do sports card shows together.
