Things To Do

Here are a few local points of interest in the Seattle area that we recommend visiting. If you prefer not to rent a car, this region has a reliable bus system. Check out Sound Transit's (https://www.soundtransit.org/) and Metro Transit's (https://bit.ly/3t8Janl) websites for more information about routes and schedules.

Bainbridge Island Ferry

Seattle Ferry Terminal, Seattle, WA 98104

Taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island is the best way to see the Seattle skyline and (if you're in luck) Mt. Rainier from Elliott Bay. The ferry ride takes 30 minutes each way. Check out the WSDOT website (linked below) for ferry schedules and more information.

Fremont Troll

Troll Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103

Visit Seattle's iconic troll who resides under the Fremont Bridge.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park Boulevard, Seattle, WA 98199

Visit Seattle's largest park if you'd like to see views of the Cascade and the Olympic Mountain ranges, stroll two miles of protected tidal beaches, and check out pen meadow lands, dramatic sea cliffs, forest groves, active sand dunes, and more.

Ballard (Hiram M. Chittenden) Locks

3015 Northwest 54th Street, Seattle, WA 98107
, (206) 780-2500

Just down the road from our wedding venue, the Ballards Locks have the busiest boat traffic of any locks in the United States. If you decide to visit the locks, make sure to take in the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Gardens.

Olympic Sculpture Park

2901 Western Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121
, (206) 654-3100

A pleasant place for a walk along the water next to Seattle's downtown area. This park is maintained by the Seattle Art Museum, which could be a nice alternative to the sculpture park if the weather is unpleasant.
