Although Colin and Peri orbited the same group of friends for most of their time at The College of New Jersey, their paths didn’t officially cross until the beginning of their last semester of senior year. After returning from a semester abroad in Germany, Colin moved into a house full of their mutual friends with a suitcase full of stories and a newly polished German accent. The first time Colin saw Peri, he was immediately smitten. Peri, however, was not — mostly because Colin was incredibly quiet and barely made eye contact. At the first house party of the semester, Colin spotted Peri and knew this was his chance to redeem himself and win her over. He proceeded to follow her around all night like a very polite, overly enthusiastic golden retriever. Peri wasn’t quite sure what to make of him. She assumed he was simply making the rounds... or possibly just a really, really welcoming. But Colin was persistent and, to his credit, genuinely funny. Eventually Peri thought, “Wait… is this guy hilarious??” and from that moment on, something shifted. Laughter turned into real conversations, and real conversations turned into something neither of them expected but now could never imagine life without. And the rest, as they say, is history.
