Colin and Katie first met in a very traditional, hopeless romantic, love at first sight kind of way (on Tinder) after Katie moved to Minnesota in fall of 2022. Colin asked Katie if she liked rodeos and that's all she wrote. In the summer of 2023, they went on a few dates and hung out often, but with Katie's plan to move to Seattle after graduate school, their brief relationship came to an end. Ultimately, Katie decided that she wanted to stay closer to family for a little longer and pursue her therapy career in Minnesota instead, but Colin was now set on moving to Montana in the coming months. They remained friends and went on to date other people. Fast forward to September of 2024, where they both found themselves without significant others and still in Minnesota. They planned to reconnect, and within a month, said their first "I love you"s, began officially dating, and have been inseparable ever since! Colin and Katie moved in together in February 2025 in Eagan, MN, where they currently live with their dog, Ozzie. Katie spent many nights watching Colin playing and coaching lacrosse, and Colin spent weekends watching Katie coach her travel softball team. Fun fact: Colin and the University of St. Thomas Men's Lacrosse Team won the National Championship in May of 2025! Katie continues her work as a School-based Mental Health Therapist and Colin recently took on a new venture as a Direct Sales Rep. Colin and Katie enjoy painting, binge-watching movie series, building Lego sets, going to concerts, and cooking/baking in their free time. Colin asked for Katie's dad's blessing and proposed on November 1st, 2025 after a Halloween party moments after they both changed out of their Cat in the Hat costumes (very on par for them). Katie was completely surprised - and (to no surprise to those that know her) completely hysterical; it was a very special and personal moment for both of them. They are so excited for their next journey in life together and can't wait for everyone to celebrate with them!
