Labor Day Weekend 2019

Jessie had just relocated to Portland for her graduate school program and moved into a house in hip Northeast Portland. Prepared to focus on her studies and absorb the cool funkiness of her new town (Portlandia, craft brews, the rain, shuffling, etc.), she had barely adjusted to the gloomy weather before through mutual friends encountering a ruckus soccer team in the middle of celebratory mid-day drinking at their favorite bar Prost! One player on Team Awesome caught Jessie's eye and to tell the truth she was fairly smitten right from the start. Colin and his teammates lived in a house a few blocks away from Jessie at a residence affectionately called 'The Broing Out Resort.' Through mutual hang outs and crossing paths in the neighborhood the two quickly became a pair and he became her bro next door

Six years later, they were closing on their first home... For many years at this point, Jessie had been prepared for him to ask the question: sideways and expectantly smiling at him during every pretty sunset, at the summit of every hike, and throughout every exotic and amazing vacation they went on... ... but on the day they got the keys and walked through the front door of their first home together, he managed to surprise her... In workout gear, pony tail and no make up she was prepared to do house projects that day. Instead she was greeted with flowers on their mantle and a speech from the man that she loves about their love, relationship and future. He had managed to surprise her! He got down on one knee, asked her to marry him and she said "yes!"
