Long ago, in 2018 to be exact, in a land not far from where the two will marry, Colin and Jess met for the first time like many before them- on a dating app. Drinks and dinner at The Perch, (a great brewery in downtown Chandler) led to a second, similarly successful date. Though the pair enjoyed each other's company, their lives were just getting started and were ever-changing and thus, the two paths quickly parted. Until… Jess graduated from nursing school in 2022. By this time, Colin had entered his master's program and had moved from West Phoenix to Mesa, a mere 8 miles from where Jess was living at the time. Once more, both took to dating apps and, of course, the pair matched again. It wasn't until midway through their meal at Cornish Pasty Co. in Mesa that Jess got the nerve to mention how familiar Colin seemed. Smitten with each other and bemused at the chances of them meeting again, the two spent the evening discussing where life had taken them since their last meeting, and their wishes for the future, each quietly picturing the possibility of a future with the other. Unfortunately for the couple, there was yet another roadblock keeping them apart. Jess was set to spend the entire summer in Maine, causing the couple's paths to split again. Eventually, as we know, love prevails in the end. Once Jess returned to Arizona, Colin, after some encouragement from close friends, reached out to her requesting to give their connection a third, and final shot. Since then, the couple has grown inseparable. After privately meeting with her parents and purchasing a beautiful emerald ring, Colin asked for Jessica's hand in marriage on October 27th, 2023 during a weekend away in beautiful Jerome, Arizona.
