For those who are as obsessed with shiny crystals as we are! Feel free to spend a day digging, wading in the creek, or sitting at the sluiceway, all at an actual active Emerald Mine! We utilized the lapidary onsite to help create our engagement ring, and they're a treasure.
Carolina Renaissance Festival
For those who want to get into the Halloween spirit, dress up, and eat turkey legs! Yes, we have spent an anniversary or two here, hanging out with the Washing Well Wenches. Don't worry, costumes can be rented at the front of the Faire to those who can't fit anything else in their suitcases. (Costumes are optional, either way)
ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center
For those with small kiddos, this is a fantastic library space! It's a children's library and exploration center that caters up through teenagers, as well. It also might be where Colette's job is located and she is shamelessly plugging it.
Children's Theatre of Charlotte
A shameless plug for Colette's workplace. Whatever show we may be putting on at this point, there's bound to be something entertaining! While we make theatre geared towards younger audiences, teens and adults will absolutely love seeing them as well.
Sleepy Poet Antique Mall
For those looking to go antiquing in a new town! This is a huge flea market with a central register to check out. They have a little of everything, including vintage clothes, records, furnishings, décor...and might be where Allan has filled out his vintage Care Bear Cousins collection over the years.
Mac Tabby Cat Cafe - Charlotte
If you're in the mood to play with some adorable kitties! Allan and Colette got their two precious girls, Bastet and Persephone, through Mac Tabby. All cats are adoptable through their partnering shelter, Catering 2 Cats and Dogs, and this way they get to socialize before finding their furever homes.
