Train
From Roma Termini station, take a train to Assisi (the station is in Santa Maria degli Angeli). Most routes are direct or require one quick transfer in Foligno, taking about 2–2.5 hours. From the station, it’s a short 10-minute taxi ride up to Assisi’s old town. Once in Assisi, Castello di Petrata is a 15 minute drive from the town center. It’s easiest to reach by taxi or rental car since it sits just outside Assisi with panoramic countryside views!

From the Assisi train station (actually in nearby Santa Maria degli Angeli), you can take a taxi or local bus up to the historic hilltop town.
