We Do

Gabrielle's aunt Heather and Cody's mom Kim were best friends growing up! Eventually, they got married and started families of their own! Aunt Heather married Thom Shipley--Gabrielle's dad's brother--and Kim married Brian! These families along with their parents would go on trips to Disney every spring break. So essentially, Gabrielle's Aunt Heather and Uncle Thom have known Cody since he was a baby. Fast forward 25ish years, Gabrielle's aunt and uncle along with their twin boys--Ethan and Elijah--told Cody he should message Gabrielle to hangout. Like the good boy that Cody is, he decided to slide into Gabrielle's Facebook DM's. Unfortunately for him, she used to be a strict Instagram girlie and his message went unnoticed for a few months. But, Cody did have another chance! Both Gabrielle and Cody were attending Ethan and Elijah's graduation party that summer! Cody recognized Gabrielle right away but unfortunately for Cody, Gabrielle had no idea who he was as she still hadn't checked her Facebook messages. During the party, Gabrielle's sister Sarah had lost her car keys and they ended up having to comb through garbage trying to find them. You might think this would be a perfect time for Cody to swoop in and save the day! But as we all know, Cody is a germaphobe and decided to stay clear of Gabrielle and did not make a move. Sigh. Fast forward a few more weeks and Gabrielle finally checked her Facebook and noticed she had an unread message from a Cody Roy! She asked her cousins about it and they encouraged her to message back and set up a time to meet--super causal of course! Gabrielle decided to invite Cody out to Beadle Lake to go fishing the next morning and he accepted! Cody arrived early for fishing and brought his own tackle and even a fishing pole for Gabrielle! They fished that morning alongside Gabrielle's cousins Ethan and Elijah and it went so well, Cody decided to invite himself to join them for lunch! Cody must have liked Gabrielle's company because he then decided to invite himself to go golfing with them that same afternoon! It's safe to say, once Gabrielle and Cody met, they have been inseparable ever since!
