Ever so romantically, we met while working at Rite Aid! It was Cody's first job upon his return to Vermont once he was out of the military. It was Dakota's night job while in college. Who would have thought that awkward glances and short conversations in the aisles of a pharmacy would lead to a love story?

It depends on who you ask! Cody thinks he did, since he reached out via Facebook first. Dakota thinks she did, since she invited him to hang out first.

We went to an escape room and dinner at an Irish pub. It was a blast! We had so much fun, we repeated the date on our anniversary each year (even home-based escape rooms when COVID hit!). We're now completely out of escape rooms in nearby Vermont.

Cody here - After the emotional roller coaster that was our home buying process, I decided to scrap my original idea of proposing on our anniversary and instead do it on our closing date just two weeks later! I had the ring on me throughout the final walkthrough and during the actual signing. Finally, after it was all said and done, we found ourselves standing alone for the first time in our new home and I popped the question in the kitchen!
