We're Getting Married!!

Despite attending the same school and parties, we did not know each other in high school. I always knew of Cody Durrett and could spot him in any group...It is no secret how tall he is and his loud, contagious laugh carries further than he realizes. On the other hand, I am shy, reserved, and blend into the background until I get to know the people around me. Since our personalities and demeanor were polar opposite at the time, Cody had no idea I existed. After high school, Cody and I were formally introduced via a mutual friend, at a local bar, and I immediately felt comfortable around him. Don't get me wrong, I was still quiet and reserved the first time we met, however, to my surprise, he admired my quirky personality. The truth is; from day one, Cody was determined, anxious, and excited to expose my true personality, layer by layer. His persistence had me awestruck and we became inseparable. We eventually started spending every possible moment together. The chores of grocery shopping, working out, and cleaning suddenly became events we looked forward to. We both quickly realized that we were spending more time talking on the phone and the frequency of our dates were increasing at a rapid pace. It never mattered to either one of us what we were doing, as long as we were together. We had become very best friends! Looking back, we laugh about how our completely different personalities prevented us from meeting in our high school years. However, we are truly blessed that our paths crossed when they did and we are extremely excited to be forever intertwined. Cheers to the local bar we met through! Cheers to everyone that helped mold us into the individuals we are today! Cheers to the past and future growth we will have through faith, love, and patience! Cheers to two unique individuals becoming one through marriage!

On a spring break vacation in New Orleans, we attended a production called "Pianist of Willesden Lane". it was beautiful! Cody and I both always forget to take pictures while on vacation so I made sure to mention to him that we needed to remember this time. After the production, he suggested that we get someone outside the venue to capture our picture with the Le Petite Theater sign in the background. Little did I know, my life was about to change! While the lovely volunteer was preparing herself and our camera for our request, Cody got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him! In total shock, tears of joy ran down my face as I agreed to spend life with him. I had no idea Cody had already notified our volunteer photographer of his plan and she was able to capture the sweet proposal on camera!
