Question

Why a wedding in the Dominican Republic?

Answer

Stephanie's family is from the Dominican Republic and we love the ocean! So we figured why not!

Question

When should I get in?

Answer

We recommend you arrive at least two days before the wedding (Saturday, November 9, 2019). We will arrive at the resort Wednesday, November 6, 2019.

Question

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Answer

Yes, there is a 3 day minimum stay requirement. If you are staying for 3 days, we recommend the following arrival/departure options: Saturday, November 9th- Tuesday, November 12th or Sunday, November 10th- Wednesday, November 13th

Can I stay at another resort or at an Airbnb?

Answer

Yes, but we strongly recommend you stay at the Majestic Colonial. We need 90% of our guests to stay at the resort per Majestic Colonial policies. Also, outside guests run the risk of not being able to attend the wedding. If the resort is at maximum capacity, outside guests will not be allowed to enter the resort. We have been told this happens often. Additionally, you may spend more money if you stay elsewhere because you will have to cover your own transportation to and from Majestic Colonial, and purchase a day pass for every time you come to the property. The cost is $110 for a regular day pass (valid 9am-9pm) and $110 per person (from 9am until reception closes the day of the wedding). Lastly, we chose to have our wedding at a resort in order to spend time with our friends and family. We would love to spend time with you before and after the wedding. We plan on hosting a welcome dinner and several get-togethers during the week. We hope to see you there!

Why should I book through DestinationWeddings.com?

Answer

We have been working closely with our travel agent, Nancy Yeomans, to plan the details of our special day. She has been reliable and has reserved a special group rate for wedding guests. The DestinationWeddings.com group rates include all inclusive access (food, drink, and room) and transfers to and from Punta Cana Airport. To book with DestinationWeddings.com you must book a minimum of three nights. You are also welcome to set up a payment plan with DestinationWeddings.com. The deposit to secure a room is $100 or $50 per person (whichever is highest). All payments must be made by July 19, 2019.

What is the Majestic Colonial Club?

Answer

The Majestic Colonial Club is the Adults only side of the resort. We recommend those traveling without children below the age of 18 to stay in the Colonial Club rooms. Guests staying at the Colonial Club will have access to 2 swimming pools, 2 private bars, a private beach area with Bali beds, selected premium drinks, 24 hour room service, exclusive access to "Le Gourmet" restaurant, in room bar with 4 choices of liquor, bottle of champagne upon arrival, private and personalized check in, personalized butler service during your stay, express bell boy service, superior bath amenities, in room beach towels, pillow menu, aromatherapy for pillows, robes and slippers in room, turn down service, surprise gift in room, complementary late check out (based on availability), and Access to VIP lounge (library, complimentary internet connection, newspapers, DVD selection, hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, alcoholic drinks and personalized concierge).

Can I book my flight through DestinationWeddings.com?

Answer

I plan on traveling solo. Can I share a room with another guest attending the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please reach Stephanie or Coby directly if you are interested in being connected with another guest. You can contact them via phone or email at sosakalterwedding@gmail.com.

Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All outdoors! The ceremony will take place at the beach gazebo and the reception on the presidential suite rooftop terrace.

Question

Can I take pictures and/or post photos of your wedding on social media?

Answer

Cameras and phones will not allowed during the wedding ceremony. This is a very special moment for us and we would like our guests to experience it with us 100% rather than behind a screen. Plus, we have hired a professional photographer to capture the moment for all of us! You can take as many photos/videos of the reception, and post to social media.

What time is the reception scheduled to end?

Answer

11pm, but we are renting the presidential suite for the night. We can hang out there after the reception or head to the disco to continue the party.
