It all started with one simple message - “I love the CMB!” Drew & Ashlyn met online in April of 2024. At the time, Ashlyn was pursuing her Master of Social Work and Drew his Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education/Special Education at Eastern Washington University. One picture on Ashlyn’s dating profile stuck out to Drew - her in full uniform for the Washington State University Cougar Marching Band (or CMB). Ashlyn played alto saxophone in the band while an undergrad at WSU, while Drew is a lifelong Coug fan. They realize now that through all the love, loss, and life experiences…their future spouse was right in front of them at many WSU games! Their first date was axe throwing downtown. Drew officially asked Ashlyn to be his girlfriend on May 18, 2024 while attending a Spokane Symphony concert.

During the summer of 2025, Drew and Ashlyn went out to do some ice skating and batting cages but had to make a stop at the Northtown Mall in Spokane. While he was in there, Drew secretly bought the ring while Ashlyn was in the car. Drew proposed to Ashlyn on October 11, 2025 (her 25th birthday) in a park in Sandpoint, Idaho. Drew recruited one of Ashlyn’s best friends to film the proposal. While she had a bit of a hunch, it was the happiest surprise of Ashlyn’s life.

Drew & Ashlyn live in the Spokane area with their beloved tabby cat, Ozzie. Ashlyn is a social worker in community mental health and Drew is currently finishing up his degree. They can’t wait to share their special day with all of you!
