Dear Family & Friends: After much thought, Chris and I have decided to postpone our wedding. With COVID-19 cases spiking, we don’t feel it responsible to host our wedding this year. We have spoken to our venue and vendors and decided to push it back to the end of next year. Please hold 12/18/2021. More details to follow in the coming weeks. Love, Mindy & Chris
We met in 2017 at, what I lovingly refer to as, the "nerd convention." Let me explain. Every year for the past 5 years, my friends have hosted a charity marathon to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The culmination of the 24-hour week long fundraising block is a two-day Video Game Convention called "Gaming Community Expo" where gamer nerds from around the globe get to partake in a convention entirely dedicated to the Gaming Community. That year, I told my friends I wanted to support them by volunteering my time. They stuck me at the merch table right in front of the ticket registration booth. When those doors opened all hell broke loose and I was drowning in a sea of nerds clamoring for t-shirts. Enter Chris to the rescue. Chris had followed some of my friends on stream and decided to head to Tampa to volunteer. When things got crazy, our head of security sent him over with two other people -- Kevin Yon being one of them. After a whirlwind two days of laughing, talking, bonding over nerd things, and selling tons of shirts, we went our separate ways. Even after we parted, I couldn't stop thinking about Chris. Imagine my surprise and excitement when, five months later, I got a text inviting me to dinner. Chris was coming to town for a wedding and casually mentioned it would be nice to get together. I nonchalantly accepted the offer while frantically moving around/cancelling my weekend plans. We spent a fun weekend with his best friends Chris and Elizabeth Emmanuel. We both knew, after that weekend, there was something special between us. After some prodding on my part and help from Elizabeth, I maneuvered an actual first date and...the rest is history. Over the past few years, we have had a pretty stellar dating experience with trips from Tally to Tampa Bay, many Disney days as annual passholders, a jaunt over the pond to Europe, a fun NYE trip to NOLA, adopted a cat, and had a fantastic proposal.
