Jessica worked in the Wausau probation office before transferring to the Wisconsin Rapids office. Michael transferred into the Wausau office after Jessica had already left. The Wausau office put a team together for the annual Battle of the Badges Softball tournament and both Jessica and Michael were asked to play. Michael played left field and Jessica played left center. One of our first interactions involved both of us attempting to catch a fly ball and colliding in the outfield. (Our communication has improved since then!) We met as teammates and since decided we want to be teammates for the rest of our lives!

Our first date was at Lambeau Field. We decided to go to another Packer game that landed on our 2 year anniversary. Jessica thought he might propose at Lambeau and told Michael that beforehand. Michael fooled Jessica by saying he’d never do it at Lambeau because he knew Jessica didn’t want an audience. He was a great actor and it ended up being a complete surprise. With Michael’s well thought out plan and the help of some great friends, Jessica was completely caught off guard and the special moment was photographed and videotaped.
